Scripture 2 Kings 6:5-7

If you threw a piece of iron in the water, would you expect it to float? I doubt it very much. You would expect it to sink to the bottom and stay there. If someone was to tell you that iron floated, would you believe them? But, it really did happen.

According to these verses, an axe head that someone was using fell into the water. It was one that he had borrowed, and so he was very distraught over it. So, he went to the prophet Elisha and told him what had happened. He showed Elisha where it had happened and Elisha cut down a stick and cast it in the water where the axe head had fallen and iron swan. The head floated to the surface and Elisha told the man to pick it up. Amazing, isn't it?

If that happened today, the reaction would be totally different. The person who lost the head would probably just go and buy his friend a new one. But I don't guess it was as easy as that in those days. But Elisha must have felt the need was great enough that he did something about it.

This to me is a prime example of how God is to us when we come before Him with a request for something. Whether the request is for something big, or for something so small that you wonder if you should even bother God with it, God cares. He cares about all that concerns us. If it is important to us, it is important to God. He cares about the little things as well as the big. The only thing is though, we have to accept His will in whatever we are asking Him for, because He also knows what is best for us. What a mighty God we serve!!!

God cares about the little things
That affect us everyday
No matter how small they seem
He still cares anyway
