Scripture Obadiah 3 - 4

God was talking about Edom in these scriptures. He said that the pride of Edom's heart had deceived them. They must have dwelt in places that were high up because God told them that even though they live in the clefts of the rock up high, and though they soared like the eagle and made their nest among the stars, from there, He would bring them down. These people seem to be thinking that because of their location, no one could bring them down to the ground. They forgot about who God was. They certainly underestimated His power and ability.

People can put themselves anywhere they want. Whether it's high in the air, or far beneath the ocean, there is nowhere anyone can go where God cannot go. If it is His desire to bring someone down, down they will come. People exalt themselves and think that are justified in doing so. They are in for a rude awakening. Scripture says in Romans 12:3 that we are not to think to high of ourselves.

How do you feel about that today? Do you feel you can do as you want and God or no one else can do anything about it? If that is what you think, you are in for a rude awakening. I will never understand what makes us humans think that we can fight against Almighty God. The maker of everything!!! The one who breathed into man, and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) Never, never lift yourself to a place where you feel that you are higher than God. When you fall, you will fall hard. Humble yourself and in due time, He will lift you up. (1 Peter 5:6)

Never ever exalt yourself
To where you shouldn't be
For God knows where you are
For all His eyes do see
