Scripture Titus 2: 11-14

What wonderful words are found in these verses of scripture. The grace of God that brings salvation had appeared unto all men. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live self controlled, upright and godly in this world. All this, while we wait for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Jesus gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all sin and to purify us unto Himself. A peculiar people who are eager to do what is good. The dictionary describes peculiar as being special, odd, weird etc. Another says belonging to one person. That certainly describes how the majority of the world views us today. They think it is indeed weird and odd to worship and love someone we cannot see. To live a life of love is as foreign to the world as it would be to see a fish live out of water.

The most un-natural thing for the child of God to do is to live an ungodly life. Jesus came and offered a way of escape, but it is up to us if we accept what He did for us. It is up to us to continue in sin and reject Jesus. The Lord is able to make all grace abound, if that is what we want. Knowing that Jesus could come at any time, what kind of people should we be? The kind that are living every day as we should and doing only those things that are pleasing to the Lord. I am sure none of us wants Jesus to be ashamed of us when we stand before Him. When we do stand there, we will have absolutely no excuse that we can come up with for not living the kind of life we knew we should live. Be very careful how you live.

Live godly lives each day
So you will hear the Father say
Well done my child, a crown you win
You did your best to conquer sin
