Scripture Proverbs 30: 7-9

These verses of scriptures show how the person was feeling at the time. I believe we can learn from it today. He was asking two things from the Lord. One was that the Lord would remove all lies and vanity from him because he didn’t want to be telling lies or to be proud. He also asked the Lord not to let him be rich or poor. He just wanted enough to meet his needs. He didn’t want to be poor because he was afraid he might steal to meet his needs and he didn’t want to be rich because he was afraid he would deny God and feel he didn’t need Him anymore.

I think he had the right idea. We are living in a society where one of the main themes is...get all you can, while you can. Very few people realize that when their needs are met and they have plenty left over, they should help those who are in need. I believe that if we all shared what we had when we have too much for ourselves, this world would be a better place to live in.

This writer’s prayer should be ours today...Lord meet my needs and keep me faithful to you. I personally would add just one phrase of my own when praying this and that is....Lord whatever extra you have given me, help me to freely give it to others in need.

We can ask God today
To meet our every need
For He will move on our behalf
If only we believe
