Scripture 2 Chronicles 36:11-16

Zedekiah was only 21 years old when he became king. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord and would not listen to Jeremiah the prophet. The priests and the people had polluted the house of God but because of his compassion, he sent messengers to warn them. Verse 16 tells us that they mocked the messengers and misused the prophets that God sent. The wrath of God arose against the people until there was no remedy. The words that struck my heart most in this reading were the words no remedy. There was absolutely nothing left for God to do but pour out His wrath.

The same holds true today. There will come a time when there will be no remedy for sin. We are living in the day of grace, when God's mercy is being outpoured upon the world. The time will come when the door of God's mercy will close. His word is being preached all over the world. The warnings are going out, but a lot of people are not listening. They are still mocking the people and the things of God. This will not go on forever.

God is a God of mercy but He cannot and will not tolerate the sin of this world forever. Be very sure where you stand in what you believe. Don't be deceived and listen to what the world is saying. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and make sure you are safe within God's fold.

Don't mock the things of God
That you don't understand.
Accept His saving grace today
Before His mercy ends.
