WHAT A NIGHT

So still was the night all around them
Just the bleat of the sheep could be heard
The stars danced like jewels in the heavens
The night of the birth of our Lord

The night which was dark and cold
Suddenly busted with heavenly light
The shepherds that sat on a hillside
Had never seen such a sight

There appeared angels before them
Announcing that Jesus had come
Shouting aloud that in that place
The virgin gave birth to a Son

They would find Him in a manger
No room was there in the inn
If only the world knew that day
Just who that baby was then

For that night God’s gift to this world
Was His precious, precious Son
He came to give life to all people
And then when His life’s work was done

He would then go back to the Father
For in Heaven He was of great worth
What a night when the angels proclaimed
That God’s Son had come down to earth
