Our Shepherd

The shepherd gently leads his sheep
Along the mountain side
To greener pastures that he knows
Is where they will abide
He gently leads them one by one
Makes sure each one is there
For they are his precious sheep
So he leads them on with care

Some wander from the fold
And go out on their own
The shepherd searches 'til he finds
Then safely brings them home
He puts oil on their bruises
And gently cares for them
Knowing he'll gladly go and look
If they get lost again

So cares our shepherd Jesus
For all those in His fold
He cares and loves and helps each one
No matter how young or old
He guides us on our pathway
Though sometimes life is grim
We'll be safe from danger
If we will follow Him

He leads us to greener pastures
And by the purest streams
He'll lead us through the bad times
He'll share our hopes and dreams
He'll find us when we wander
And are lost out in the cold
For He's our eternal shepherd
Who died to save our soul

He'll gently lead us back again
And our wounds He will heal
Because our shepherd Jesus
Knows exactly how we feel
If we follow Him through life
Then while endless ages roll
We'll spend eternity with Him
Inside God's Heavenly fold
