My Rock

When you walk along the beach
Gigantic rocks may line the shore
Regardless how the wind and waves
Beat on them o'er and o'er
These rocks they do not move
Firm and secure they stand
These rocks have always stood there
Amidst the water and sand

I'm glad I have a special rock
Within my life and soul
A rock that stands firm and secure
Though storms of life may blow
This rock no foe can move
No winds of life can harm
You see, my rock is Jesus
In Him there's no alarm

He stands so sure and steady
As long as my life endures
No matter what the problem
My rock will stand secure
Though satan may attack me
Try his best to bring me harm
When I hold to my rock
He'll never let me down

We sometimes sing the words
On Christ the rock we stand
We know within ourselves today
This world is like sinking sand
Nothing in it is stable
Nothing on which to stand
Without my rock Christ Jesus
You won't make it my friend

So ask my Saviour Jesus
Into your heart today
You'll find He will come in
With you He'll always stay
He'll stand firm and secure
Though endless ages roll
Because this rock called Jesus
Also died to save your soul.
