Don’t Listen

Have you ever looked around you
And it seemed all you could see
Were problems and confusion
Life seemed hard as hard could be
It seemed that everything you tried
Turned out wrong instead
And you felt so tormented
By strange voices in your head

Sometimes the tempter's arrows
Seem to pierce your very soul
When He tries to tell you
You will not reach your goal
There may be times when problems
May seem so hard and fierce
Don't let the devil fool you
God's armour they can't pierce

So don't listen to the tempter
When he tells you there's no God
Don't listen when he tells you
That alone through life you'll plod
Don't listen when he tells you
That you are going to fail
Because my friend I'll tell you
With Christ you can prevail

Don't listen when he tells you
The Lord's not there for you
My friend I guarantee you
My Jesus He is true
He promised He'd walk with you
He promised He'd be there
He will keep His word to you
Your burdens He will share

So don't listen when the devil speaks
He never says what's right
He knows with God's full armour on
You'll be prepared to fight
When you make yourself ready
And gird His armour on
I can tell you this my friend
In Jesus name He's gone.
