I am not a place, nor a structure.

I do not shield from the sunlight.

I do not block the wind.

I am a shelter, nonetheless.

I take upon myself the pain

I do not judge the cause.

I am a shelter from sorrow.

I defend.

I dissuade only the offense.

I do not judge the reason.

I am a shelter from attack.

I cherish.

I secure the dreams, inside.

I offer my own, in return.

I am a shelter from hopelessness.

I love.

I give all my caring.

I take only in return what is offered.

I am a shelter of happiness.

I am all of these things.

I work to be more, besides.

I wait for the day.

I will wait for it, forever.

Then...perhaps...I will find a shelter for myself.
