---== To Ride Pegasus ==---

I rode a magic horse today,

And where we went I could not say.

'Cross fields of endless waving grain,

We touched the sky, and made it rain.

Then, on to mountains never crossed,

Aloft, and far above the frost.

Thru valleys full of clover sweet,

Where no horse ever stopped to eat.

Around the singing hills we flew,

A million flowers, all in blue,

And honeybees that moved aside,

So no one's sting would spoil my ride..

A final run, an inch above,

The ground she'd never learned to love.

Then slowly did we come to rest,

We'd finished well our endless quest.

I mourned the end of such a ride

And turned again to go astride,

But from the crowd outside the door,

I heard, "Come, son, you'll ride no more."

And so I cried and left her there,

The silver horse, her saddle bare,

But to this day it's her I see,

When you say "Carousel" to me.
