---===* Arabesque *===---

Welcome, mortal...drink some wine,

And tell me of your woes.

For I'm the Djinni of the Lamp,

That in her window glows.

-=*=-

You say you lost a loving bride?

A sweet young virgin maid?

I tell you now, she had no soul,

'Twas just a game she played.

-=*=-

You say that all the gold you had,

You spent to see her bought?

A pity, that, for it is gone,

You lost it all for naught.

-=*=-

And all the diamonds you could bear,

You took to her embrace.

But now you say, they've disappeared,

All gone without a trace.

-=*=-

And finally, you gave the lamp,

Upon your bride-to-be.

But, silly mortal, don't you know,

The lamp controls the Me?

-=*=-

At last, I'm free, and now for you,

I've word about your bride.

She's taken everything you gave,

And gone away to hide.

-=*=-

A place she bade me make for her,

Across the Great Abyss.

Where she is safe from smelly hands,

And painful, rasping kiss.

-=*=-

A thousand years I've waited, here,

And now its I, who rule.

And you who dance to what I say,

You silly, spendthrift fool.

-=*=-

So welcome, mortal...drink some wine,

And tell me of your woes.

For I'm the Djinni of the Lamp.

Amuse me...while I doze.
