-- Those hopeful few seconds when you still believe that everything is going to work just as easily as promised on the software box.

Accumulator

-- Your error message "save" file.

Acme

-- A term favored by computer users as it is reminiscent of the malfunctioning devices used by Wile E. Coyote.

Advanced Computing Environment

-- Getting a small fridge for underneath your desk so that you don't have to leave your internet connection to get the caffeine and sugar fix necessary to keep you net surfing all night long.

Advanced Power Management

-- The ability to hold an entire office building hostage not by the use of weapons and force, but by the simple threat to shut off the main electricity before letting anyone save their work.

Advanced Techonology

--(a) Something that wasn't even thought of last year.

-- (b) Something that will be outdated next year.

Archive

-- In case of nuclear war all important data is stored safely on tapes and disks in protected rooms miles beneath the earths surface directly below the World Trade Center, while all the computers that can read these tapes and disks are left on the surface to survive as best they can.

-- The firearm of choice of former postal workers who have been replaced by computers.
