Pacifism and Social Justice Links

News and Blogs

The Gutless Pacifist
One of my favorite weblogs, demonstrating the strength of conviction, the humility of Christian faith, and a good wallop of humour.

Antiwar.com
One of the better news sites dedicated specifically to the anti-war cause.

Michael Moore.com
Always controversial... Love or hate this popular satirist, whatever he says demands a response.

Adbusters
The journal of mental environmentalism, in online form.

Websites and Resources

Nonviolence Web
Great resources, but beware the message board. Rather than a place to grow and devlop in living nonviolence, it's mostly just a battleground for debate between gluttons for punishment and gluttons for giving punishment.

Jesus Radicals
Again, a great set of resources. Be wary of the message board though: they art more radical than thou.

A Force More Powerful
The official website for a six episode PBS min-series on non-violence in the 20th century. This has some amazing stuff, including testimonies and nonviolence tactics.

Every Church a Peace Church
A nicely done Christian nonviolence site calling churches back to faithfulness to Christ's message of peace.

The Conflict of Ages
An appreciable text on the relationship between Christianity and violence. I don't agree with all of his conclusions (like the authority of the State), but still, the effort is worth noting.

Understanding the Philosophy of Peace
An Iranite FAQ on nonviolence, addressing many of the standard questions and criticisms.

Non-Violent Action Handbook
As the title states, another collection of resources.

An Introduction to Active Nonviolence
Yet another good collection of resources and instruction.

Theology, War, & Peace - The Text This Week
This site is mostly directed towards clergy and other Church leaders, with resources for prayers, sermons and theology on peace.

Writings on Christian Nonresistance and Pacifism from Anabaptist-Mennonite Sources
I'm not a big fan of the Anabaptist tradition (or more specifically, the indset it came from and the offspring it has produced), but I do have to acknowledge its position as a traditional peace church.

Theology Library: Justice and Peace
Another good links site for Christian peace work.
