NATALIA AND I

Natalia's carefree attitude must be kept in check when spending my money. I don't permit frivolous expenditures, having been born from peasant descent. She prefers classic cut suits, while I hibernate in sweat pants and shirts.

I spend time at home quietly caring for family; allowing Natalia all the adventure gallivanting through the universe, bouncing through rings of time, setting no limits upon herself. Natalia holds all the treasures; she meets new friends, discovers lost secrets, and forges the battle against evil.

I remain content to win ribbons in chili contests, attend PTA meetings and decide what to cook for dinner. My world doesn't reach past the movie theater or the little league field. But Natalia is there, always with me, enjoying the comforts of my family.

We share a love for reading. I read paperback novels; Natalia reads the ancients of Rome. If it weren't for her encouragement, I wouldn't have the grace to attempt writing meaningful words. I am Natalia; Natalia is I. She is a sister in me shining brightly in my soul.
