MY DRAGON

What Have I to do with dragons?
Although I am certainly experienced
In providing bolts out of the blue
In building cages for things
That would better run free
In casting my eyes down
When the sky called to me
In holding fragile treasures
With these shaking hands
But what has this to do with dragons?
I have played with eternal fire
Laid waste to the countryside
But where is my mountain of gold?
I have gathered only memories
What have these to do with dragons?
Try to wrest these trinkets from my grasp
Then, perhaps, you will understand
What I have to do with dragons.
