My interest in Amateru Radio started back in 1958. My uncle was a Ham Radio Operator and he allowed me to sit down in front of his Heath Apache Receiver for hours on end. I was in wonder at all the code and tried to guess what they were saying.
Anyone remember the old Popular Electronics SWL Monitor Club? My monitor call was 'WPE5AXP'. I used an S-38E which I still have.
I was first licensed in 1959 as
WN5CLJ. After upgrading to Conditional in 1960, I let my license
lasp and in 1969 I once again was licensed under the new
structure as WN5ZLJ. I upgraded a year later and held WA5ZLJ
until the early 80's at which time I upgraded to extra class.
Shortly after that I changed my call to ND5B. On March 17, 2000 I receive a new vanity call of K7DRA.
My current station has changed over the years and since retirement.

Ham Radio is really a joy since retireing. I enjoy every contact and spend a lot of time on 10, 12 and 17 meters during the day when the conditions will allow and 40 meters at night.
I enjoy learning new things and programing in Visual Basic and
HTML is one of the new things that I really enjoy. Like I said,
I'm learning so stay with me on this project. As time goes alone
I will get better and this site will be one of the best on the
net.
