About the film You won't find Tommy: The Movie for sale on any of the Internet video stores, it's not being made anymore. Depending on who you ask, it's for good reason too. The movie is often criticized for its style, more often portrayed as an acid trip gone bad than an epic musical. Starring Ann-Margret, Oliver Reed, and The Who's own Roger Daltrey, Tommy: The Movie is an unfortunate victim of the decade it was created in. The story is generally in line with the original album and the later Broadway musical, with certain exceptions in the actions of the characters (Mrs. Walker is pretty much a slut in the movie), and the use of the musical pieces (Do You Think It's Alright is used three times in the movie), and a combination of both (Tommy is supportive of Uncle Ernie's merchandising efforts through We're Not Going To Take It in the movie version of the song). The soundtrack is definately a must-buy for any Tommy fan. While the Broadway soundtrack and the original album are extremely close in music and lyrics, the soundtrack for the movie differs greatly in both. In addition, the amazing performances of Elton John in "Pinball Wizard", Tina Turner in "Acid Queen", and Eric Clapton set the album apart from the others in the Tommy franchise.
