BACKGROUND
WHO ARE RUBBER BAND?
Rubber Band are the good old resident band of Fearnhead College. They have been together for around 4 years altogether. The infamous David Klein was the drummer, but 2 years ago he left for a better life at a better college, so Simon was dragged into the melting pot.
Rubber Band have not really been known as Rubber Band until recently. Many name changes have occurred, from Murphy to Resident Band, and even Anal Beard. Somehow, Anal Beard did not seem to have quite the same commercial appeal as Rubber Band. It just seemed a little more friendly.
The band consists of 5 members:
IAN NESTOR - Lead Vocals/Writer
DANIEL WILSON - Lead Guitar
PHIL MURPHY - Rhythm Guitar
KEVIN RACEY - Bass Guitar
SIMON SMITH - Drums/Writer
WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC IS PRODUCED?
Various styles are emitted from each member of the band. There is very much a large indie influence, but diversity comes from heavy metal to soft rock ballads.
To gain playing experience, the band primarily played a large catalogue of covers. As confidence grew in abilities of the group, a decision was made to start writing our own material and music. This is given the band a new perspective that was, quite frankly, lacking before. The aim now is to create a solid good album to be proud of before most of the members run away to university. So look out!
