Hello, Web-Surfers, I am a 27 year old Computer Programmer, Computer Technician and Network Specialist, born in the Bahamas in the year of our lord 1973.
Incidentally this is also the year of our Bahamian independence from England and colonial rule.
I graduated from college with a degree in Computer Programming, and proceeded to pursue studies,
at the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute on a two-year certification program in Computer Trouble Shooting Upgrade and Repair.
I later graduated with the highest honors the school had to offer, having obtained a perfect 4.0 grade point average from beginning to end.
Out of the 1500 odd students that were graduating only 4 students, would claim this honor.
In March of 1999 I was inducted into the International Technical and Vocational Honor Society,
and have being enjoying the benefits and privileges of membership since. To find out more about this Society Please click on the link below.
The next goal for me was to pursue and conquer the A+ certification, and MCP Certification exams
, both of which I did successfully in mid 1999. Presently I am finishing off my Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Systems Management at the Sujourner-Douglass College.
The year 2000 problem has caused much concern for the Bahamas government, even though we are a small and still developing country,
we have become a highly computer dependent nation, like most of our fist world counter parts, therefore the millennium bug could have
catastrophic consequences for us if not fixed.
Our Prime- Minister the Hon. Hubert Ingram established a national plan for the Bahamas to
combat this potential problem. He called together the country's best and most competent Computer Programmers and Computer Technicians to
form a National Y2K Technical Team, to track down and solve all Y2K issues.
As I am on this team it has been keeping me very busy and has been but has been quite a learning experience on a number of different levels. I have had an opportunity to interact with some of the world's leading Computer experts
in the course of my job, none the less I will be happy to see the end of it. We are on schedule and the year 2000 should bring to us little surprises.
Personal Interests
I am also a Ancient Free and Accepted Mason on the Grand Role of Scotland and my interest besides computers is in our fraternity's vast history and heritage.
