DATE DELETE UTILITY Release Level 1.8~(12/20/90 This application consists of one runfile: DateDelete.Run Product Name : Date Delete/List Delete Supported On : B24, B26, B27, B28, B38, B39, and all SuperGen hardware Supported OS : BTOS II, CTOS I, CTOS II, CTOS III Description : The Date Delete utility allows a user to delete or list files by their creation, revision, or access dates. In addition, a file can be created that records the files that have been deleted or that contains the list of files that have been created, modified or accessed earlier than, later than, or ON a specified date. Directions/Use : The Date Delete utility allows the deletion and listing of files based on dates. The /Date Delete command may be used for the listing and deleting of files. The /Date Delete utility may be executed by passing parameters to the /Date Delete command as detailed and explained below: File Name(s) This field is mandatory. Enter the file name(s) that are to be listed or deleted. Wildcarding is accepted. [Sort Date (e.g. Mon 6/1/81 8:00 pm)] This field is optional. Enter the date around which date selection is to be based. [Relation < = > (default "=")] This field is optional. This entry defines whether to look for files earlier than the "Sort Date", later than the "Sort Date", or equal to the "Sort Date". Up to two relations may be entered at one time (eg. "<="). [Revise, Create or Access Date (default = Revise)] This field is optional. Enter whether the "Sort Date" is the revision, creation, or access date of the file. [Confirm each?] This field is optional. This field is only used when files are deleted to confirm each deletion. Also, any time file deletion is attempted, a safety warning is displayed before any files are deleted to make sure the user really wants to delete files. [Print to] This field is optional. Enter the file or device name to write the list of files to or the list of deleted files to. [Details?] This field is optional. If 'Yes', then the date of revision, creation, or access is listed with the file name on the screen and in the specified output file. If 'No', then only the file name is listed. This is useful for creating '@' files with this utility. [List only?] This field is optional. The default is'No'. Enter 'Yes' to only list the files which are selected. COMMAND /Date Delete File Name(s) [Sort Date (e.g. Mon 6/1/81 8:00 pm)] [Relation < = > (default "=")] [Revise, Create or Access Date (default = Revise)] [Confirm each?] [Print to] [Details?] [List only?] To use the command, the user enters the file names that he wants to get information on in the "File Name(s)" field. The user can use all normal wild cards etc. In the "Sort Date" field, the user enters the date around which date selection is to be based. In the "Relation" field, the user defines whether to look for files earlier than the "Sort Date", later than the "Sort Date", or equal to the "Sort Date". Up to two relations may be entered at one time (eg., "<="). In the "Revise, Create or Access Date" field, the user specifies whether the "Sort Date" is the revision, creation, or access date of the file. The "Confirm each" field is only used when files are deleted to confirm each deletion. Also, ANY time file deletion is attempted, a safety warning is ALWAYS displayed before any files are deleted to make sure the user REALLY wants to delete files. The "Print to" field specifies the file or device to write the list of files to or the list of deleted files to. If "Details?" is "Yes", then the date of revision, creation, or access is listed with the file name on the screen and in the specified output file. If "No", then only the file name is listed. This is useful for creating "@" files with this utility. The last field is "Delete?" for the "Date List" command and "List only?" for the "Date Delete" command. This allows either command to be used for either deletion or listing. NOTE: The date format in this utility is the European date format; i.e., dd/mm/yy.
