Supervised construction of Internet web sites for automobile retailing, electronics distribution, and a business products exchange for an e-commerce and site hosting company. Project values were in excess of $4 million. Forbes magazine designated an automobile exchange Gary coordinated a "Best of the Web". In addition, application analysts were supervised in pre-sales assessments of business and technical resources required for projects in customer proposals, and in post-contract business and system analysis processes.
Coordinated software engineers in development and integrating vendors products and services, and network engineers in providing the underlying server and network LAN / WAN infrastructure. Customized application development involved Java, SQL, XML, WebLogic / Websphere, DB2, Oracle; and integrating packaged software such as Great Plains, Webtrends, and credit card payment under Solaris, AIX, and Windows NT environments. Defined a banks requirements for intranet-oriented portal software.

Coordinated portions of development on systems applications that comprised in excess of 50% of company revenues, providing real estate, legal, and financial data to customers. Responsible for software, server, and network hardware acquisition. Defined management and customer requirements, assessed technology alternatives, and produced project plans during development.
The systems have three-tier client / server architectures with information from a 20+ Terabyte digital image data warehouse delivered to customers over a nation-wide extranet and the Internet. Software technology includes Java, C++, CORBA, and Oracle.

Defined requirements and design for bank credit applications to reduce fulfillment time by 2/3 for clients custom data needs. Three-level client/server technology was used in conjunction with back-end IBM mainframe legacy applications.

Defined high-level design of systems that controlled $1+ billion toll road constructed in Orange County, CA. Communicated three-tier distributed system architecture to government agency, consultants, software engineers, and operations management. Reviewed systems implementation to comply with RFP and plans. Applications included financial management, equipment maintenance, customer service, ticketing, and traffic and systems management.
