LinuxBot

This page is dedicated to a Embedded Linux project using th MZ104 board powering a robot that will be entered into the 2002 Trinity Fire Fighting Competition.

My LinuxBot hardware and software design will initially be based upon the 2001 contest rules. This robotics project will also be entered in regional robotics contests as the project evolves.

I will be competing in the EXPERT Class during this competition. This is the most challenging division to enter. This division can best demonstrate the capabilities of an embedded Linux system.

My goal is to accomplish all of the challenges of the EXPERT division.

This page also fulfills the requirement for the Embedded Linux Journal contest to document the project progress.

The robotics platform will be a Radio Shack "Sentinel" (60-4257) tank chassis with a built in 6V NiCd/NiMh battery compartment.

I am using Acroname's BrainStem™ technology to control LinuxBot. Currently, this product is in BETA, and I am participating in Acroname's pre-release BETA program.
