OLD Games

This is the old games section, one of the things that I like the most.
Dont you miss all those games that you used to play in the 80's? or in the early 90's?
I just have so many nostalgic feelings now for all those games like SAM&MAX
and Monkey Island 2, and Space Quest III, and the games I grew up with.

For that reason i put alot of effort on finding a good source for the games I seek.
Soon I will post the adress here, and also add REVIEWS on each of the games and
details so you can access the games immidiately from here if you want to.

Here is what I have so far - expect UPDATES:

Monkey Island 2

Explore this game as Guybrush in search for Pirates Treasure
called Big Whoop. A sequel to the very old Monkey Island 1
which personally I didnt play (Dunno if I will). The game is very
nostalgic, especially the music. After downloading it after 4 years
or more that i didn't play it, I realized that UNTIL THIS DAY ive
been buzzing CONSTANTLY a short MIDI sound sequence.

Very funny, very nice, very cool ending.

SCORE:  5 Nostalgic K's out of 5
Graphics: Fairly good for that time - VGA
Sound    : Good, addicting music, no speech.
Level      : Medium +
Source   : LucasArts (1991)

Day of the Tentacle

This is game is a sequel to Maniac Mansion, which I also never
played, but Ijust might do it in the future. You get to play 3 characters
in this game, each having different behavior and reaction, but all of
them enslaved to your mouse clicking. The PURPLE TENTACLE
had drunk from some river full of  industrial waste. He became insane
but genius - and wants to take over the world. Benard and his friends
Leuverne and Hoagie are sent back in time to the day before the accident
to prevent the disaster, but because the mad doc was cheap, and
didnt buy a real diamond, the time machine screws up - and the pals
split in time. Hoagie is sent 200 years back in time to the house of the
Founding Fathers of US, and Leuverne is sent 200 years into the future,
to a world already taken over by the Purple Tentacle and his dinesty.
Amazing and eatable kartoonish animation - nice plot.
Score: 4.5 Nostalgic K's out of 5
Graphics: Excellent, and very good considering the time it was made in. VGA
Sound   : Speech in non playable scenes and intro - average music and kartoonish sounds.
Level     : Very easy - possible to solve even if you're not really sure what you're doing - stuff works out.

Sam & Max : Hit the road

Sam & Max is a very humerous adventure game based on a comics
and also has a TV show. Sam is a dog, and Max is a rabbit, and
they both make a team called: Freelance Police. Sadly, there is only 1 game
of S&M made by LucasArts so far (and expect no other for at least the next
century). The whole game is all based on one case that S&M happen to bump
into accidently - the disappearing of Bruno the bigfoot, and his close female
compadre - Trixie the giraffe-necked freak from the circus. You have to go and
explore stuff out to find the bigfoot, and also reveal deeper than that.
Many funny features, many jokes. Contains some of the most twisted and
EXTREMLY creative ideas i've ever seen, like "The World's Biggest Ball of
Twine" or "The Celebrity Vegetable Museum". Very nice and easy to use
interface. The game is interactive so you get to do some "unadventurous"
parts like Golf gaming or Squishing Rats which helps the adventure eventually.
The game was made in 1994 - but has excellent graphics that remind very much
of Day of the Tentacle. As you noticed - most of the Adventure games are made
by LucasArts - and thus there are tons of refrences in each game to the others
(Day of the Tentacle contains a portrait of MAX, while S&M contains a guy who
looks like Bernard from Day Of).

Score     : 4 Nostalgic K's out of 5
Graphics: Excellent, and very good considering the time it was made in. VGA
Sound   : Speech in non playable scenes and intro - nostalgic music.
Level     : Medium - You can solve the game in a week even if you have no idea what you're doing. Otherwise one day.
