If you are into RPGs then definitely go after this game. The graphics and story are superb and so are teh abilities you gain throughout your level. I would rate this game up to the same level as The (Original) Legend Of Zelda. This game has a lot of work into it. I jsut hope that Square releases a sequel to it. Which they are supposed to do. The soundtrack in this game is awesome..some time later go to a Chrono Trigger site and listen to the exceptional music they made for this game...I think you wil espiecally enjoy the unrealesed theme, "Singing Mountain". This game is in its own sense a timeless classic! ============================================================================ M A I N C H A R A C T E R S ============================================================================ 1. Crono: The hero of the game he is a young man whom fate chosed to save the world. He is a skilled swordsmen and later on learns Lightning Magic. He has a female friend Lucca, and later befriends Marle. 2. Lucca: A friend of Crono's she owns the machine that changes Crono's life and the course of history forever. She uses a gun, and she learns Fire magic later. She hates frogs! 3. Marle: Her real name is Princess Nadia of Guardia. She bumps into Crono while at a fair, she got to by running away from the castle. She is an archer, she later learns Water and Cure magic. 4. Frog: A young knight named Glenn was changed into a frog by a spell from the evil sorceror, Magus. He is the Queen's bodyguard. He also wants to revenge his big-brother's death at the hands of Magus. He controls Water magic and a few Cure magics as well. He is very vailiant and courageous. 5. Robo: A deactivated robot found in the Proto Dome in 2300 A.D., his first name was R-66Y (his serial number). He uses his fist to attack, he cannot use magic since he is a robot and has no soul, but his laser weapons can inflict Shadow type damage. 6. Ayla: A cave woman from the prehistoric era (65,000,000 B.C.). She is the chief of a tribe who are fighting a band of reptiles known as Reptites, she cannot use magic, but her physical abilities and attacks make up for that. 7. Magus: In 12000 B.C., a castastrophic accident throws 3 gurus and a Little Boy named Janus (who is a royal heir) into different time periods. Melchoir ends up in 1000 A.D. in Medina Village, Belthasar ends up in the Future (2300 A.D.), and Gaspar ends up at the very End Of Time, and Janus is found by the evil thief Ozzie (600 A.D.) and is raised by Ozzie and becomes the troubled & sometimes evil Magus. He can become your ally later in teh game if you let him, he is skilled with a scythe and he uses powerful Shadow Magic. ============================================================================ B E S T W E A P O N S & E Q U I P M E N T ============================================================================ This section tells you the best weapons Armor Helmets and Accessories for every character. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crono's Best Equipment Sword - Rainbow Sword Helmet - Prism Helm Armor - Moon Armor Accessory - Prism Specs (THE RAINBOW SWORD IS MADE BY MELCHOIR FROM THE RAINBOW SHELL, THE MOON ARMOR IS FOUND IN THOSE CHESTS THAT ARE OPENED BY THE PENDANT WHEN IT IS POWERED UP, GO TO THE "ZEAL TREASURE" TRICK IN THE TIPS & TRICKS SECTION FOR MORE INFO ON HOW TO GET IT. This is where the adventure begins. It is peaceful here right now but evil forces are plotting to destroy the world even now. --- 600 A.D. This is Frog's ear in which he lives, & so does Magus. The kingdom is in a war with Magus the sorceror, Magus was stranded here from 12000 B.C. Ozzie, Flea, & Slash are his henchmen they also live here. --- 2300 A.D. You find Robo here, you also find that the world has been destroyed by Lavos, a few humans remain in enclosed domes. Machines are plotting to kill all humans and establish a new world. Belthasar the Guru of Reason was stranded here from 12000 b.c. --- The End Of Time This is where lost time travelers end up at. Here you learn magic from a shape-shifting being named Spekkio. Gaspar, the Guru Of Time was stranded here, and this wil become your base of operations. The End Of Time is a place of least resistance and also it has portals to all other time periods. --- 1999 A.D. The Day Of Lavos; the day when Lavos bursts from the Earth's crust and shoots out lava bombs and destroys the earth's crust, and all life. --- 65 Million B.C. This is the era in which Lavos fell into the earth. You'll find Ayla here she and her tribe are fighting agaisnt a race of reptiles to survive. --- 12,000 B.C. This era is in essence where it al began...this world is an ice age, but high above in teh sky rules the Magical Kingdom of Zeal. The enlightened ones live in Zeal while the non-magic-using Earthbound ones live below in a village known as Algetty. This is where Janus (Magus) is from, and all the 3 Gurus are. There are 2 heirs to the throne Janus and his big sister Schala. The queen here is corrupted by the evil being known as Lavos, Lavos is the power source of Zeal. A stone known as teh Sun Stone was the old source of power but now they use Lavos as a power source. ============================================================================ W A L K T H R U ============================================================================ Truce Village: Wake up from your sleep then talk to your mother and then go down the stairs. Choose a name for your second party member and then exit the house and head north to the town square. Right now the millenium fair is in order. Here you can get Silver Points by defeating a mechanical robot in the northwestern end of the fair (15 for this) or earn them by guessing the outcome of a race. The race is located right after the entrance talk to th man standing in the tent to place your bet but before you do that you should talk to the old man standing to teh right side of the track (he usually is right, usually) you get 20 points if you are right. You can also get 1 point by winning the strength game to teh left of the race track. And lastly you can earn silver points by guzzling 8 cans of pop in teh northeastern part of the fair (talk to teh man standing at the table there) you need a turbo controller to win, I think you get 25 points for this but I'm not sure since I have never done it. You can use these silver points to play in the Tent Of Horrors its located to the right of the race track. The games offered in there are as follows: Cost Explanation Prize 10 SPs Guess which soldier is which Cat Food 40 SPs Mimic what the clone does Clone 80 SPs Save a person from being burned & keep monsters away *Cat then Food *BTW, thats Cat Food for the last one. Anyways, after your done screwing around go to the center of the fair (the area with the bell) and bump into the girl there. After you get up talk to her then go and grab her pendant. Then talk to here let her have the pendant back and then let her join you, name her. Then go to the northwestern part of the square and find the cat and press A while facing it (do not press A while near the red bag) then bring it back to the little girl on the other side of the square and talk to her (shes near the beer- guzzling, or pop, table). Now go back to the first screen. Now walk down adn talk to teh woman sitting on the fountain, now Lucca's display is ready. BTW, do not talk to teh old man next to the race-betting tent he will want to make you sell Marle's pendant. Now go back up to to the area where you ran into Marle and try to go up the stairs to the north. (Its where the two men were standing before). Marle will want to get some candy stand still until she's done then go up the stairs. After the guy is done yapping, talk to the girl on the pad and agree to try out the machine get on the pad and after you teleport Marle will want to try it. Something goes wrong. After the dialogue walk up to Marle's pendant get on the pad and pick it up and watch the sequence. When you get out of the time warp you'll be in Truce Canyon in the time period of 600 AD. Truce Canyon: Try to walk to the left out of this screen and you'll be attacked defeat these enemies, and exit. Go up the ladder here go across the bridge and down a second ladder. Finally go down to exit Truce Canyon. Guardia 600 AD: Talk to everyone in Truce to get some info. It seems the Queen has been found....but is it really her? In this period Truce is warring with the Sorceror Magus. Exit the village and go west and press A to enter the woods to the east of the cathedral. Keep going north in the woods and you'll make it thru the woods to Truce Castle, press A on the map to enter the castle. Guardia Castle: After the Queen lets you thru go up into the throne room. Talk to the king and then talk to teh Chancellor and follow him. Then go into the bedroom across from wehre the chancellor is standing. And then walk over to teh direction of the chancellor to see some interesting dialogue. After this go back to the throne room then go over to the other side of the throne room and go up the stairs at teh end of the hall there. After going up all of the steps go into the bedroom and talk to teh Queen. Turns out she is really the girl from the fair. After the screen turns walk towards here and she disappears. Then go back out of the bedroom and down the stairs back in the throne room you are stoppoed by Lucca. After the dialogue exit the castle and go thru the woods then enter the cathedral to your left on the Map Screen. Cathedral: First thing to do here is to look for a flashing point in front of the altar, after talking to everyone inside including the woman at the organ. After Lucca realizes what it is, the nuns transform into monsters. Defeat all of them by using regular attacks (it should be easy), afterwards a Frog saves you from Lucca from certain doom. Name him and he joins your pay afterwards go to the upper left and examine the organ there (press A in front of it). A secret door will appear enter it. Go left and get the chest, continue left and go thru the door. Go up the stairs and enter the door get the chests then examine teh dresser to get teh Naga-Ette Bromide, this will cause a fight with henchmans. After defeating them exit the room and then go right then up to another chest. To your left you can see some spikes go between the spikes and the lower wall and press the skull switch on the other side (this will lower the spikes) now enter the door. Examine the simmering dot in the pot for a Power Tab then take the chests and exit this room. Go back downstairs, go right until you reach another set of stairs, go up the stairs and enter the door in front of you. Talk to all three monsters in here and then follow the one that leaves. You'll follow him first to a room with teh King & Queen then to a room with a statue of the Sorceror Magus and some chests. When you try to leave the statue room you are attacked, defeat all of the enemies then exit. Now try to exit this room and you are attacked by the "King & Queen", defeat them and finally leave the rooms. Go back downstairs and then go left, only this time go up the hallway and enter the door at teh end of the hallway. Save your game here and go up the stairs go left and then get teh chest. And then go down the stairs below you, go thru the door next to the sleeping Henchman. In the new area press the skull switch on the wall then go thru the door to the north. Now go right until you come to a door leading to the south.....go thru that door and then in the next room flick that skull switch and then go thru the room. Go up the stairs and to the left. Now you are back to where you started. Enter the door that leads to the room that was full of spikes, upon entering the room you are attacked. Defeat all of the monsters and then go up and play the organ there to make a door appear in the upmost hallway. Exit the organ room and go to the left then down some stairs then go up thru two doors and then go to the right until you see the door next to a note on the wall. Enter that door, in the new room save then RUN to the north and then to the left to avoid any fights. Then go thru the door at the end of this hallway. Inside fight Yakra and kill him (look to teh BEAT THE BOSS section for tips) after the fight the queen will take you back to teh castle if you talk to her when she goes down to the exit. Guardia Castle 600 AD: During the talk between the chancellor and the Queen and King...Frog will leave, go up the stairs to teh room where the fake Queen disappeared and Marle will reappear. After the prattling, go back down to teh entrance of the castle and talk to Frog (its fun to watch Marle freak!) he will leave. Exit teh castle and then go thru Guardia Forest again. Go back to Truce Canyon. Truce Canyon: Find your way back to the time warp, in teh following dialogue you will be brought back to your original time period. After Lucca leaves take Marle back to Guardia Castle. Guardia Castle 1000 AD: Open entering Guardia Castle you are arrested by the Chancellor and put on trial. The outcome of the trial depends on what you did in the fair. If you did what I said to do in this Walkthru you will be found innocent. But you will still be jailed for three days. After you are taken to the prison the Chancellor switches the sentence to execution in three days. After the guard knocks you out, you'll find yourself in the cell. Take the pink pouch here for some food (btw, this pouch only appears if you are found innocent). You have two options now: 1. If you stay in your cell and don't cause any trouble for three days (the three days will fly by) the prison supervisor will come to get you. He'll take you to a room with a guillotine, put Chrono's head in the guillotine and at the last moment Lucca rescues you. You'll be near the exit when this happens. 2. If you make noise in your cell by shaking the bars three times and when the guard comes to knock you around press A as soon as he turns his back to knock him out. Once he passes out run out of the cell and defeat the other prison guard. The next few paragraphs explain what to do if you take the first option (since it is faster). After Lucca joins you get the chest and exit this room, save the other guy in the guillotine and he invites you to stop by his shop in Truce village later. As you exit this room you'll see that Lucca knocked out this guard. (All of the guards in the prison can be snuck upon and knocked out and once they are knocked out you can examine them for a Mid Tonic). Go left fight (or knock out the guard and go down the stairs. Go across the bridge and fight the two guards in the middle, after they are dead continue to go across the bridge and exit it on the other side. Now you are in a room with four sets of stairs.....they lead to what as follows: 3------A Fight with a Skeleton 4------back the way you came 1------Your Cell, sve pt, HP/MP drink 2------4 chests, 2 guards, 1 Omnicrone fight. After exploring the stairs 1, 2, and 3 go back the way you came (4). This time go up the hallway you passed before. This will lead to another stairway and a guard. Go up the stairs and across the bridge to another room with four sets of stairs: 2------Hole In A Cell Wall 3------continue to the boss 1------1 Chest 4------back the way you came Stairs #2 leads to a cell with a hole in it back wall enter the hole and it will take you outside, climb down the wall and you'll find another hole enter the hole and you'll be back inside, grab the chest then examine the hole in the floor to go down to another cell. Take the two chests here and examine the area where you entered you will go back up....exit this cell by going thru the hole and climb up the outside wall back to where you were. Go down stairway #2 and get teh chest, then go back to teh 4 stairways then go up #3, then go up a few more flights of stairs. You'll be back at the entrance of the dungeon, enter the door to the left and you'l find a knocked out supervisor, examine him for five Mid-Tonics. Examine the note on the floor for a tip on how to beat the upcoming boss. Save your game (btw, this si where Lucca would've of showed up if you busted out yourself). Go up the stairs and then go across the bridge to fight the Dragon Tank. After defeating the Dragon Tank go across the bridge of bodies then go down all the stairs and try to exit the castle....Marle will appear when you are at the exit....after she has a fight with her father she'll leave with you. In the forest go to the right and enter another part of the forest. Here you'll find a gate.....you have no other choice but to enter it. When you get out from the time warp you'll be in the future in the year of 2300. Bangor Dome 2300 AD: You can't open the door to the north, just yet. Exit this place and go south to Trann Dome. Don't stay outside too long the air is poisonious apparently. Trann Dome 2300 AD: Here you'll learn about just where the hell you are. You can also buy equipment here and use the Enertron (press A in front of it to use it). After you are done here, go north and enter Lab 16. Lab 16 2300 AD: Watch out for the rats they will steal Tonics from you if they touch you. Explore the ruins (notice how it looks like a city with streets in between) and work your way to the upper right corner where you'll find a path to the next section of the ruins. In this new section you'll find enemies that are stong against normal attacks, so use techniques. Once your done work your way to the upper right corner of this section to find the exit. Now that you're out, head east to the Arris Dome. Arris Dome 2300 AD: Once you've talked to everyone and bought new equipment and used the enertron go down the ladder into the basement. The consoles need a password which you'll get later. Go up the ladder in the upper left corner. Work your way to the top of the room where the ladder leads to. From here go North into the next room. An alarm will go off and try to enter the door in front of you and you'll be attack by the Guardian Bit. After defeating it go thru the door it was guarding. Get the chests then examine the body for a clue about the rat statue outside. Go back to teh room with the rafters and run after the rat until your close to it and press A, it will tell you the password. The password for the later in the previous room is press and hold L & R then press A. Retrun to the room with the consoles and stand in front of the one on the right and enter the password with your controller. Now enter the door that came available to you. Work your way to the top of this new room and enter the door. At the top of this room you'll find yet another console, but instead of messing with it go into the normal door to the left of you (this door leads to the Info Center). Examine one of the consoles inside of the Info Center to see some storyline information. Go back to where the people are waiting. Once you get the Bike Key exit Arris Dome and go east to Lab 32. Alternately you could go to the south and enter Sewer Access. This place lets you get access to the southern continent, and it gives you some new armor and weaponry so it may be worth going thru now. (If you don't want to waste your time skip to the section that reads Lab 32). Sewer Access 2300 AD: First go right and open up the chest and then go back and go left you'll eavesdrop on a couple of creature's chatter. Follow them down the ladder. Follow the path not touching anything lying on the ground (this includes the save point at the end) because it will invoke attacks. Past the fake save point you'll find a ladder going up, go up it. When you find a spot that looks like there is a space in between the two walls go up that space and go thru to the other side. Press the switch on the wall then go back thru the gap. Now go up to the edge of the water and press right and follow the path behind the walls and you'll come out the door you just opened. Continue along the path and you'll come across a chest and then go a bit further and you'll find Sir Krawlie, defeat him and continue down. Go past the ladder yuou find at the moment and continue to come to a chest with a Bolt Sword in it. Then go back to the ladder and go up it to get out of here. Go to the south on the map screen to reach the Keeper's Dome. Keeper's Dome - 2300 AD: Not much to see here except you might want to talk to the old man and then to teh strange blue creature. The old man dressed in royal clothes will mention future events that happen in the game (he's really losing it isn't he? And don't you think this game is fun?). For now exit and try to go up Death's Peak. Death's Peak 2300 AD: Run forward along the righthand side and get teh shimmering dot for a tab before the wind blows you away. You'll return here later in the game (much later) and finally climb to the top so don't worry. Go to Lab 32 now. Lab 32 2300 AD: Examine the bike and then talk to the "man" that appears and take his challenge to a race. You'll have three turbo boosts which you can use by pressing B and it takes time to recharge in between boosts so its really only wise to use on towards the finish line (as long as Johnny isn't in front of you and you hit him across the line, btw for a really cool song press START to pause as soon as you lose you'll hear a slower version of the race music, which I think is cool) if you win you'll make it across the Lab the quick way. But if you do win go back into the lab and go to the left until you see a chest in an alcove go and get it (you'll have to fight at least one mutant and some Shadows) then take the Race Log to Johnny for a new way to race him and keep track of your scores. Try beating the score of 2100! Anyways after exiting Lab 32 go to the right and then south on the map to get to Proto Dome. Proto Dome 2300 AD: After fighting a few Buggers go up along the stairway and find your new comrade Robo. After Lucca repairs him, choose a member to leave behind and then exit the dome and go north to the factory. Factory 2300 AD: Examine the compute and Robo will override the security. Defeat the acid that appears then go up and take the left elevator first. Examine the console to open that hatch that is below the chest. Go down that hatch, Follow along the path and thru the two doors until you come to a door leading into a large room. Get both chests and then examine the comsole to shut off the defense lasers. Now exit the room and go right to an elevator. Take the elevator down. If you want to skip the rest of the factory the password you need to know is X, A, B, Y. Go back to the room where Robo first shut down the security and go and take the right elevator this time. Here take the left elevator down three times and then go up and use the vode XABY on the computer console to open the door to the generator. Now go into the generator room and press A while in front of the switch to turn power on and now you ahve to escape immediately. Go down past all the doors that will try to close on you and go up the ladders and continue until you are stopped by the six robots that trach Robo (r-Series) beat them and the story will take you back to Proto Dome. Proto Dome 2300 AD: After Robo is fixed by Lucca. The four will go up and enter the time gate but something has gone wrong. End Of Time: (Robo looks like somethings wrong doesn't he!) Talk to the old man here and you must leave one party member here. When you try to leave he tells you to check out the place behind him. Here is a monster named Spekkio and do what he says and you will learn magic. If he says "Want to try it out?" say No because he have you fight you and you'll lose. But if you do win you'll get some great items (look to the Spekkio's Sets section for mroe info). Take the first piller of light (its above the one you entered here from). Medina Village 1000 AD: You'll come out of a closet in someone's house after they tell you off try to exit to get some info. With what they told you in mind don't bother talking to any of the people in the inns or shops. Go to the village square and talk to everyone there who is worshipping the statue of Magus. Go to the Elder's house and talk to the purple guy there, he will talk of his ancestor Ozzie who you will soon come to hate. Also get teh Speed Tab there on the counter. Once your done here head south on the map screen to Melchoir's Hut. Melchoir's Hut 1000 AD: This is the guy from the fair that I told you not to go near. Talk to him to buy weapons (at good prices). Remember where this place is because you will need to come back here later several times. Now exit his hut after equipping new weapons and armor, and go north on the map to Heckran's Cave. Heckran's Cave 1000 AD: You'll have to use magic against a lot of the monsters in here. Go straight ahead in the first room. In the second room go down from the entrance and enter the hole there, and in that room go to the left battling all the monsters for a chest. Exit this room, now go left and exit this room. Go left to another door in the new room. In this room go up then go to the right. Make your way to teh right and find a save spot and a door use the save spot and go thru the door fight Heckran and beat him then go straight ahead and jump into the whirlpool when prompted. You'll end up near Lucca's House enter it. Lucca's House 1000 AD: Talk to Lucca's dad and get teh Taban Vest. Then leave and go north to Truce Market. Truce Market 1000 AD: You'll find the guy who you saved from losing his head. He'll give you 10 mid ethers. Go visit your mom to see her freak out! Now go north to Leene Square. Leene Square 1000 AD: Go to the north where Lucca's telepad machine is and use the gate in between it to end up at the End Of Time again. Zenan Bridge 600 AD: Talk to everyone here. Then go north to Guardia Castle. Guardia Castle 600 AD: Go to the right and go up and then go down the stairs at teh end. Talk to the cook in the kitchen and everyone else there then try to leave the palace and the cook will give you the food for the soldiers back down at Zenan Bridge. Go back to the bridge. Zenan Bridge 600 AD: Talk to the Knight Captain and say Yes. Talk to him again and he'll give you a Gold Helm. Then start to go across the bridge....attack Ozzie during these fights to kil all the enemies quickly. At the very end he'll make Zombone, defeat Zombone and go the rest of the way across the bridge. Go to Dorino Village. Dorino Village 600 AD: In one of the residences you'll find a drawer that is locked (it has a shimmering dot in it) talk to the old man next to it and give him the Naga-Ette Bromide and then open the drawer to get the tab. Leave Dorino and go south to Porre Village. Porre Village 600 AD: In the market you will find a power tab. Thats it for here now you should go to the northwest to Cursed woods. Cursed Woods 600 AD: Go north to the end of the woods and walk behind the bushes in the center to find Frog's home. Remember where this is. Thats all you have to do here. (Every once in a while here you might find a Nu, touch it and it tells you: Stop it you dog!). Head to the north to Denadoro Mountains. Its to the right of Dorino Village. Denadoro Mountains 600 AD: In the first area there is a ladder to the north but before going up it go up to the right of it to find a MirageHand for Robo. Then go back a screen and after the sequence of the two fights go up the ladder. BTW, the best way to kil an Ogan is to burn their hammer with fire and then attack them. In this section work your way up and over to the upper right hand corner to find the entrance to teh next section. In this section go from the left side to the right side, then go up to teh top and then back over to the left side and you'll reach a cliff (you'll be attacked like crazy here) once all the fights are over with exit to the left. In this next area get swept off by the thin runoff from the waterfall to get a SilverErng and a SilverStud. Now go back to teh top and go up and over to the next section of the mountains. Here talk to the creature five times for a tab. You';ll find a save spot after the monster, use it and there is a Speed Tab at teh bottom of the ladder on the left side. Go a little further along this entrance and you'll find a cave (after you get past the Freelancer) enter it and go to the sword and a kid will stop you. Defeat Masa & Mune then defeat the second version of them (Masamune) then go back up to teh sword to get the first part of the Masamune. Go back to Tata's House in Porre Village. Tata's House - Porre Village 600 AD: Doesn't the little kid hiding look familiar!! Talk to him and he'll give you the Hero Medal. After the family starts fighting exit and go back to Frog's House in Cursed Woods. Frog's House - Cursed Woods 600 AD: Talk to Frog when he is standing in front of the pot and then examine the pot that he was standing in front of. You'll find the second part of the Masamune (the Hilt) Melchoir's name is enscribed on it. Go back to Medina Village in 1000 AD and enter his house. Melchoir's Hut 1000 AD: Talk to Melchoir and he'll tell you that you need an object called Dreamstone to fix the Masamune. To find it go back to teh end of time and take the pillar of light that leads to Mystic Mountain in 65 million BC. Mystic Mountain 65,000,000 BC: After the fall you'll ahve to fight five lizard-like beings (called Reptites) after that 6 or 7 (I can't remember how many) come out, shortly thereafter a woman kicks the crap out of some of them and once you've killed the rest she will introduce herself to you. Follow her out of the mountain. Go northeast to Ioka Village. Ioka Village 65,000,000 BC: Go to the bottom right hut and talk to everyone there to be offered sweet water take it and drink it hten go to teh Cheif's Hut and talk to Ayla to start the party. During the party wait for Marle to stop talking to Ayla then talk to her twice and take her challenge. Press 'A' as fast as you can to beat her in the soup race (it would be best to have a rapid fire controller to win this easier) when you win she will give you the Dreamstone (eventually she will tire and give it to you anyway....EVENTUALLY). You'll wake and discover the Gate Key is missing, go back to the Chief's Hut and talk to Ayla to wake her. Choose one other party member. In one of the huts in Ioka Village you can trade items you find the hunting range (a little more on that place later) for the following weapons and armor: Petal + Fang Ruby Gun Petal + Horn Sage Bow Petal + Feather Stone Arm Fang + Horn Flint Edge Fang + Feather Ruby Vest Horn + Feather Rock Helm I would go to the Hunting range now and fight for these items so you have the adavantage when you enter the Forest Maze. Its located to the north of Ioka Village. Hunting Range 65,000,000 BC: Basically just run around and fight all the enemys you see for the trading items. When it starts to rain look for a Nu if you find it and press A while standing in front of it, it'll fight you if u win you'll get 3 of each trading item and a Third Eye (you can get a Third Eye once per game in this way). The Nu only shows up once in the Hunting Range, if you want to fight it again exit the range and re-enter. To get all new equipment for your current 3 party members you will need the following from the Hunting Range: 5 Fangs, 3 Petals, 7 Feathers, and 2 Horns. Once you have all new weapons and armor head south to the Forest Maze. Forest Maze 65,000,000 BC: After Kino admits to everything and leaves, go thru the trees and follow the footprints to the Reptite Lair. Reptite Lair 65,000,000 BC: In the second room of the Liar you'll find 4 Evilweevils...do NOT fight these enemies at all if you are not in a hurry because they can create new holes to new areas with treasure chests. Drop down to the room with all the Reptites running around, enter the door on the right side of this room. Go up in this hallway until you come to a Megasaur and two Reptites kill all of them and go into teh door they were hiding. You'll find Azala in the next room and once you are done answering his question he will summon Nizbel to fight you, defeat Nizbel and get back the Gate Key go back to Mystic Mountians. Mystic Mountains 65,000,000 BC: Go to where you first metAyla and go up the left side of the screen go to teh edge of teh cliff that teh Gate is one and press A and select Yes to jump. Go back to Melchoir's Hut in 1000 AD. Melchoir's Hut 1000 AD: Talk to Melchoir and then follow him downstairs and just sit back and watch. After you get the Masamune go back to the Cursed Woods in 600 AD. Cursed Woods 600 AD: Go into Frog's house and talk to him. Watch the story sequence and then go to the End Of Time and talk to Spekkio so Frog can learn magic. Then go back to 600 AD and enter the Magic Cave (its to the right of the Denadoro Mountains in the northeast cul-de-sac). Magic Cave 600 AD: Once Frog opens up the cave (Wow! Great Effects!) enter it. Inside you'll notice a small bat will follow you around (ignore it for now) follow the path in here and try not to get in a fight because a ton of Rats will come out. Go up the stairs at teh end and check the dead soldier for a clue about a monster you'll fight later. Then exit the cave and head north to Magus's Castle. Magus's Castle 600 AD: Once in teh castle go up the stairs and enter the door up there and go all the way to teh end then come back out and go the other way and go up all the way to the end. Then come back out and touch the "save spot" and Ozzie appears. Once you've defeated all of the enemies he puts out go up the left path and go back to the end (do NOT talk to anyone before then even though they look familiar because they are actually ghouls) and then talk to teh women at the top she will transform into a skeleton and then so will everyone else (scary huh??) kill them all off. Then talk to the shadowy figure that appears. Its Slash and he attacks, defeat him and then pick up the sword he left behind. Then go back to the place where you saw Ozzie and take the right path this time and go all the way to the end (and again ignore veryone on the way) and fight Flea? (hmmm). Defeat it and the real Flea will appear as the bat that was following you. Defeat Flea and then take the Magic Tab (its where she was). Then once again return to the area where Ozzie showed up and step onto the "save spot" once again. After you are transported to another part of the castle. Go north fighting along the way and then talk to Ozzie at teh end and follow him thru the door. Dash under the blades and follow Ozzie thru the door at the end. Climb up to the top here and enter the door (a lot of places coming up are like this a lot). In this room try running to him and he'll open a hole in the floor. You'll invariably fall down it and when you do you'll fight a couple of skeletons and once they are gone, go to one of the walls of the rooms and touch the save spot and three things could happen now: 1) The save spot is actually 3 energy whirls (you'll have to fight them) 2) It transports you back up to where Ozzie is 3) It's an actual save spot Once you get back up to Ozzie by using #2, go towards him again and fall down and continue doing this to reach him because he will run out of holes to open in the floor, once you approach him he will flee. Climb up to the top here and enter the door. Fight all the monsters Ozzie sends at you then approach and he flees again. Hug the wall as you go up in the next room to avoid some fights, adn enter teh door at the top. In this room talk to Ozzie and you'll finally get to fight the little pansy!!.... kinda. Once the "fight" is over two save spots will appear use the one one the right to save and he other on the left to transport yourself to a staircase. Run down this staircase likes there is no tommorow and enter the door at the bottom quickly. In this room go up as the flames light up and talk to Magus at the end to fight him. Once and IF you beat him Lavos comes and sucks all four of you (including Magus) into a huge gate. You'll wake up in the year 65 million BC. Once you get everything you need go northwest from Ioka Village to Laruba Ruins. Laruba Ruins 65,000,000 BC: The Reptites have burned everything here. Go to the north and you'll find Ayla getting yelled at by the village chief, Ayla gets permission to use the Pterodactyls in the Dactyl's nest. Once she leaves go directly north from Ioka Village to the Dactyl's nest. Dactyl Nest 65,000,000 BC: Go to the top (its pretty straight forward) and once you get to the top Ayla will summon a Dactyl and you'll interrupt consequently 2 more dactyl's come down which means one of your current members will be booted out and you will have to select one other one. Once your done selecting members, get on teh Dactlys and fly Southeast to the volcanoes (the Reptite's lair is located in there). In this room they are teleporters that take you to different parts of the room and they sometimes cause enemies appear for you to fight. Anyway in this room go to the upper left and use the stairs there. Enter the door in this area that is not locked. Here flick the switch on the right then enter the skull and flick the switch behind it, return to the door that was closed and enter it. Walk past the Dinosaur in this new room that looks like a bit familiar, save your game at the save point and then try to go up further you will get stopped by the Dinosaur and you'll have to fight Nizbel 2. Once he's defeated climb the stairs. Here go to the door on the far right that is not locked. In this room examine the skull to open it, and go thru it and then flick the switch behind it to unlock the door that was previously unlocked, go thru that door. You'll find Azala in the room behind the locked door, follow him when he leaves (scooping up the treasure along the way) and you'll come to another boss fight, when you've defeated Azala and his pet The Black Tyrano. Kajar 12,000 BC: Talk to the Nu inside of here and say 'No' then buy all the new weapons and armor from him and equip them and head to Zeal Palace. Zeal Palace 12,000 BC: Enter the middle door in the main room and then open teh door in the next room using the pendant. And then in the Queen's room talk to Dalton to fight him, defeat him and follow him into the portal he escapes in. You'll be in the Ocean Palace. Ocean Palace 12,000 BC: After Mune disappears enter the door he was in front of. Here enter the door in the top right corner. Step on the blue circle and after defeating the two monsters exit the room thru the bottom right door. Go down and enter the door in the bottom right corner of the room. Here go thru the door at the bottom. Here take the Kaiser Arm from the chest and continue down, the path will go left, when you find another blue dot step on it and continue left back to the main room. Enter the door in the Top Left corner inside step on the blue switch and continue to the left and go thru the door on the left, you'll be back in the main room. Enter the door in the middle of the lower wall. Go down the stairs to the left and talk to Masa. After he disappears continue going down the steps. Enter the door at the bottom. Examine the shimmering dot on the elevator to start it going down. You'll have to fight several enemies on the way down. When the ride ends exit the elevator. In this room go left and enter the door at the end defeat all three of the scouts and activate the switch. Exit this room and go over to teh right this time and enter that door, again defeat all 3 scouts and activate the switch and exit this room. Then run to the blue dot in front of where you entered this room from. Follow the path that appears at the end and save your game. Enter the door above you and you'll find Dalton, he'll summon two golems to fight you, defeat them and he will take off. Enter the door behind him, go all the way up to the Queen and Schala the Ruby Knife will fly up and embed itself in the machine (the machine's power causes it to change into the Masamune) and destroy it. You'll have to fight Lavos now, you need to lose this fight so don't worry. After he wipes you out the prophet enters (he shows his true form as Magus) and then so does Queen Zeal and Schala. Once Magus is done attacking Lavos. Walk up to Lavos and press A. Crono is killed but everyone else is safe outside of Lavos's reach. Schala will then use the last of the pendant's power to send your other two party members to safety. Lavos will destroy Zeal in the next sequence (that thing falling down at the end is Zeal Palace I presume) and it will fall into the ocean this will cause a huge tidal wave that wipes out most of the land. You'll wake up in a hut in the Last Village. Last Village 12,000 BC: You'll awake in a small hut. The elder enters and tells you all of what happened and give you Marle's pendant back. Save your game in the hut after you rest explore the other huts (btw, you may want to have Ayla in your party for what's coming up). One is a shop talk to the Nu there to get some new weapons. In the shop standstill and out of the way and the Nu will walk out allowing you to get the Magic Tab behind him. Go to the Commons and talk to the old man at the very end, Dalton will show up and capture you. Blackbird 12,000 BC: Go up the ladder in this room to discover where you are. If Ayla is in the party you will have an easier time of getting thru the Blackbird. Search the wall where one of your characters shows you to jump up into the ventilation ducts. Press button A in any one of the brightly lit areas to look down below. Basically just wander around the ducts, first go to the left and find a ladder in a middle of a duct, go down it and get your member's equipment while the guard catches forty winks. Now go back up and get all of your equipment, gold, and items from the different rooms. One of the rooms with your stuff in it has a door to the side enter it, then go up the ladder (once you have recovered everything of course) and walk across the wing to the end of it and let yourself be blown down. You'll fight Golem Boss you can beat him without even getting hit once. After that Dalton shows up and you will have to fight him also, after taking a few thousand HP damage he calls for the Golemboss but the Golem Boss is gone and he gets sucked up in the gate he created, take control of the Epoch and once you've gotten the hang of it you'll see the Blackbird crash into the ocean. When you land on the Last Island go to the North Cape. North Cape 12,000 BC: Here you'll find Magus (who turns out to be Janus when he was little) when he asks you do you want to fight him say no and walk away and he will join you. If you do fight him (if Frog is in your party he will fight Magus himself) he will not join your party since he will be dead. After Magus joins you go back to the Last Village and buy new equipment from the Nu there and get back in the Epoch and in the next sequence the Ocean Palace will rise up out of the ocean. It'll be called the Black Omen from now on. Go to the End Of Time. End Of Time: Talk to the old man and then try to leave. Go back and talk to him he will reveal that he is Gaspar the Guru Of Time, he will give you a Chrono Trigger (which is what this game is named after) and tell you to go see the man that made your Epoch (Belthasar) before you do that now might be a good time to open all the black doors in teh future and take whats behind them. Also it may be a good time to get all the black chests, but if it says something is reacting to the Pendant inside (in 600 AD), do NOT take the items instead go to 1000 AD and pick them up there, they'll be much more powerful. Anyway when your done getting all the treasure you want go to The Keeper's Dome in 2300 AD. Keeper's Dome 2300 AD: Go back to where you found the Epoch and talk to Belthasar (the Nu). He will tell you that you need a Crono Clone, go back to the Millenium Fair at Leene's Square in 1,000 AD. Leene's Square 1000 AD: Go to the Tent Of Horrors (its in the upper right in teh first part of the fair) and talk to Norstein Bekkler inside. He willl give you an option to play to get a Crono Clone (but you still need 40 silver points) the longer you stay in the game (it last one minute and each second you didn't last for will be multiplied by 1,000 G) the cheaper it will be to buy the clone (u should have enough money to buy it even if you mess up the first time). Once you win or pay the G go to Crono's House and take the clone from the upper floor (the situation with his Mom makes you wanna cry doesn't it). Anyways once you ahve it go back to 2300 AD and go to the Keeper's Dome. Keeper's Dome 2300 AD: Go back and talk to Belthasar and when he comes back out after the three Poyozo Dolls disappear, go up to him and press A and switch him off. Then try checking him out again, This creature sleeps beyond the flow of time....weird! Anyways get out of this dome and go to Death's Peak now. Its to the upper right of The Keeper's Dome. Death's Peak 2300 AD: Run to the north and talk to the blue Poyozo doll, when the dies run to the north to the next tree and then do the same until you get out of this screen and into the next screen. Go to the left and take the chest and go up the ladder. Go to the right and climb the ladder you find there then go right into the next screen. When you ahve the choice of either going up into a cave or going down to a chest and a save spot go down first, take the chest and save then go into the cave. Inside here you'll fight the first of three Lavos's Spawns (do NOT attack the shell). After winning the fight (or dying) grab the chest and head north out of the cave. This path leads around the opposite side of the save where you'll find a chest, take it and then continue on. Then when you exit the cave again look for a shimmering dot on the small cliff you are on examine it (press A in front of it) and it will open up a cave below you. Go down but before you enter the cave you opened save again then enter the cave you opened. Climb the stairs and go into the door at teh top. Here you'll fight teh second Lavos's Spawn Defeat it and continue on. In the next screen you'll find a Poyozo Doll talk to it and it will tell you to be careful since the next walkway is very slippery and when you do walk on it you will be slipping down little by little, once you get over the slippery walkway exit teh screen to the left. Here go down avoiding the constant flow of Krakkers, and get the chest a little ways down and exit this screen. In this screen talk to the Poyozo Doll and it will tell you to Push the shell, then climb the shell. Climb down the ladder and go left until the path starts going up, right beyond this point is a long ladder going down and another chest. Take teh chest and go back up and follow the path up this time and fight the last Lavos Spawn. After you fight it push the shell until its middle is below the part of the ladder above you and then press A while in front of it to climb up the shell and then climb up the ladder, go up to exit. Go up here and examine the tree to ressurest Crono. Ater he's back you'll find yourself back at the End Of Time. End Of Time: Talk to the old man and he will tell you of 7 sub quests that you can (and should do) for extra-powerful weapons, armor, and items to help you in your fight against Lavos they are: 1) In the Middle Ages a woman's sheer determination brings a forest back to life. 2) A fugitive in the Middle Ages, Ozzie, maintains an evil hideout. 3) There's a task to be done in the future where machinery originated. 4) And there's a very special stone that can shine its light on each generation, from the distant past to the far future. 5) There's the ghost of a lofty knight, slain by Magus in the middle ages, who haunts the present. 6) There's an object in the Middle ages that sparkles like a rainbow. 7) One of you is close to someone who needs help....Find this person....fast. Talking to some of your companions will reveal some more about the quests. I'm going to explain the tasks in order starting with #1. But first go back to 12,000 BC and go to the Commons. Commons 12,000 BC: Talk to the women with the plant behind her and when she asks you do you like plans say Yes and when she asks what to do with the sapling.... tell her to plant it. This step is nesscessary to make the Sunken Desert appear in 600 AD. Go to Fiona's Villa in 600 AD. Fiona's Villa 600 AD: Go to the sand whirlpool otuside of her house (its located to the southern part of the desert) and press A on top of it and fall into it. Sunken Desert 600 AD: Go to the southenrmost part of the first screen and exit. Then in the next screen (you should have someone who can use an water spell in your party, btw) and touch the skeleton when it is above ground to fight the Retinite. Once it is defeated collect all the treasure chests here and then go back to teh first screen and collect all of the chests and the tab located in the upper right. Then exit teh Sunken Desert and then put Robo in your party and then go back to Fiona's Villa. Fiona's Village 600 AD: Talk to Fiona and let Robo stay behind to help her then go outside and hop into the Epoch and go to 1000 AD. Fiona's Shrine 1000 AD: First save your game outside then go into the shrine and then go to the north and press A while standing in front of Robo, after some dialogue you will be in a campfire scene. After goes to sleep Lucca will get up by herself, take her out of this area (thru the lower right corner) and then enter the gate in teh next area. You will end up in Lucca's house 10 years earlier. Go downstairs and enter the door below you. Go to the shimmering dot in the machine and press the following buttons L, A, R, and A (albeit slowly and one at a time) and the machine should stop (if it doesn't reset the game and start over) if the machine does stop you will be back in Lucca's room, enter the Gate and then when you are back in forest talk to Robo and he will give you a Greendream, an accessory that brings one party member (who has equipped it) back to life after they have died in battle once. This the end of the first side quest, for the second put Magus in your party and go back to 600 AD. Find the Black Omen and go east from there until you find a mushroom-shaped object inside some woods this is Ozzie's Fort your next destiantion. Ozzie's Fort 600 AD: Start things off by following Ozzie. In the next room you'll have to fight Flea Plus. After he (she) runs off follow her to teh next room, after Ozzie messes up go into the next room, in the next room you'll have to fight Slash as Super Slash defeat him and follow him into the next room. Do not go near the treasure chest, dumbass! Start to walk to the right away from it and an Imp will be killed by the blade. Before going into the next room push down along the wall to find a hidden room that has the most powerful weapons and armor for Magus in the chests, then go into teh next rooms. In the next room you'll have to fight all 3 evil members at once. This is a diffuclt battle, DON'T atack Ozzie until last, when he gives up and takes off to the next room follow him. He will do the same hide in a protective shell fight in the next room, hit the first switch and you'll fall down to the room below. Go back up to where Ozzie is after the fall and a cat will come up and flick the last switch and Ozzie falls to his death (weird way to go, huh!). That ends this side quest. Go to Medina Village in 1000 AD and look at all the changed townspeople, I espeically like what Ozzie's descedant is doing now....cleaning up! Anyways, for your next quest put Robo in your party and go to 2300 AD. Find the Keeper's Dome in your Epoch and fly east to the Geno Dome. Geno Dome 2300 AD: Have Robo in the front of your party, then examine the console. Then enter teh door and go thru the conveyor fighting a series of battles as you go. Once your are at the other end go thru teh door, go up in this screen and right a bit and hit the switch directly in front of you to open the door. Now go left and then go up when you have the chance then go left and fight three robots. Press the switch next to the second closed "door" to open it, enter it and run back to the other door you opened and enter it to open another door, enter the door that opened. Go up here and press the left and rightmost switch to open another door that needs to be charged for the door next to open. Go back to where you charged up first and run back here and enter the "door" to opne the door to your left. Enter the door that opened and take the Poyozo Doll there. Go back to the entrance. Go to the left and take out the two Debuggests and then go all the way to the right, when you reach a wall you'll find a shimmering dot, a door and path leading up, take the path going up then go left and up on the conveyor belt, eventually you'll see a laser, press a swith opposite to the laser that opens up another door that needs to be charged. Go back to the shimmering dot and enter the door to the left of it, then go up on teh eleveator then enter the door to the left. At the end of a long hall you'll find a door enter the door and go down in teh elevator and go down and press the switch to shut off the laser. Then go back up as far as the door you came from and go left and go thru the wall and press the switch there to reverse the conveyor belt. Go to teh charger and charge up Robo and go and enter the door that needs to be charged (you opened it earlier). Go into teh door and get the robot there to follow you all the way back to the entrance and go left from there and then go up and the two robots will short circuit one another allowing you to get teh second Poyozo doll needed to open the way to mother brain. Return to the right and enter the door near the shimmering dot, inside is an elevator take it up to another section of the factory. Save here and go down then left, here you'll meet another robot like Robo, named Atropos. You'll ahve to fight it using Robo alone after you have defeated it it will give you its ribbon. Go up and Robo will jump up and press the switch to get rid of the laser bars and go thru inside are some chests and a tabe to the lower right. Go down and to the left, go down the ladder when you see it and follow the path to a door, enter it, then go up thru another door to find a human processing plant. Put both Poyozo dolls you found on the green dots to the left and right of the huge door, the huge door will open. Go thru it. Defeat Mother Brain inside and Robo will get the Terra Arm and the Crisis Arm after the fight. Another side quest is done now. Now go back to the Keeper's Dome and then go south the a bit more west to find the Sun Palace (it'll look like a mountain). Sun Palace 2300 AD: This was the place you couldn't enter in Zeal in 12000 BC. Anyways go up and fight the Son Of Sun. When you beat him follow him where he runs and you'll get a moon stone. Now go back to 65 Million BC. Ioka Trading Hut 65,000,000 BC: You can trade 10 of each trading item for a Ruby Armor (which is the most powerful next to Moon Armor and Prism Dresses). Get enough Feathers, Fangs, Petals, and Horns for this armor for your current party and head northwest to Laruba Ruins. Laruba Ruins 65,000,000 BC: Talk to the Nu at teh top for a chance to rename your lead party member. It will give you a Silver Rock also. Its on the south end of Guardia. Mayor's Manor 1000 AD: He won't give it to you, he'll deny knowing anything about it, its pretty obvious he is lying. Go to the Snail Stop and get some Jerky for 9900 G, then go back to the same house only this time it should be in 600 AD. Elder's House 600 AD: The lady here wants to buy your jerky for 10,000 G.....just give it to her and then go back to 1000 AD to teh same house. Mayor's Manor 1000 AD: He will give you back the Moon Stone when you talk to him. Then go back and put it back in the Sun Keep and go to 2300 AD. Sun Keep 2300 AD: Finally the Moon Stone ahs enough power to be put to good use. If Lucca is in your party she'll take ti and go back to her house and then use the powr of the Sun Stone to make herself the most powerful weapon for her and after that Taban will come out with the Sun Shades. That ends this sub quest put Frog in your party and go back to 600 AD. Find Tata's House and then go east until you find Choras. Choras 600 AD: Go into the Cafe and talk to Toma. Hero's Grave 600 AD: The workmen are done go in and examine all 3 black chests but DON'T get them and then go to 1000 AD and pick them up there. This will give you Marle's most powerful weapon and the Moon Armor. (There is also a magic tab next to Cyrus's Headstone in 1000 AD). For the next quest go to Choras in 1000 AD first. Toma's Grave 1000 AD: Toma's Grave is located in the cape on the island that Choras is on. Examine the grave and you'll pour Toma's Pop on it. He will show up and tell you where the Rainbow Shell is. Now go back to 600 AD and enter the mountains you saw in the scene with Tomas to enter the Giant's Claw. Giant's Claw 600 AD: Go thru the door in the first room and you'll find out that this place is what is left of Tyrano Lair. First go right and enter the door. Activate the switch on the bottom left. After the story dialogue the chancellor will reveal his true form as Yakra XIII. Fight Yakra defeat him and after the king lets you go, go back to the courtroom and get the shimmering dot that appeared where you killed Yakra XIII. You'll get Yakra's key. Use it on the locked chest you found on the way up to the courtroom before. Now go back to teh basement where Melchoir is and he wil lmake some serious powerful s*** for you! After that the only thing left to do is either to beat Lavos and finish the game or go thru the Black Omen, which is the last thing I'll discuss. Black Omen - 1000 AD, 600 AD, or 12000 BC You can enter the Black Omen from any of the time periods above. Outside Queen Zeal will laugh in your face, after she leaves destroy all the laser guards and enter teh door ahead. Inside go forward and you will have to fight Mega Mutant. Once its gone continue along the path to a save point save your game here and fight your way to a pillar of light, step into it to be transported to another area. From the pillar go down and examine the shimmering dot to go down on an elevator, after the fights and the elevator stops go up and then go to the right. Follow this path until you reach some stairs, go up them and enter the door at the top. Here go up another set of stairs and then go right, then go up thru the door, go up to find two Nus. The Nu on the left will sell you Hyperethers and other items, the one on the right will offer to get you out of the Black Omen. Here examine the back wall to open up a door. Go left and fight the Tubster then go thru the door and go forward, when you reach a chest go thru the door thats to the right. Follow this path (taking either fork) and then continue on to another Tubster and two Flyclops, defeat all of them. Go forward a bit more to fight some more then enter the door on the bottom wall. Go forward and enter the door you see. Step on the sqaure on the top of the pedestal to be transported again to another part of the Black Omen. Go thru the door here, then go up a little, go to the left all the way across then go up as far as you can, then go right as far as you can and follow the path to the next door, enter it. Save your game at the save spot and then you'll have to fight a Giga Mutant, defeat it and then go up to the next room and use the next transporter you will find to get to another part of the Black Omen. After transporting go thru the door to get to another elevator, examine the shimmering dot and go up on the elevator. Once at the top enter the door. Follow the path to a door and enter it here. After defeating 4 panels a sazve spot will appear here (use it again) take the path on the right and you'll fight a Terra Mutant. Once it is dead go thru the door. Go up here and go into the door and here you will have to fight another Lavos Spawn, once its dead go thru the door. After destroying all of the panels here (5 of them) go thru the door. In this next room you will see tubes of liquid with what appears to be your party members floating in them. Go to the top and talk to the Queen, she will fight you, once she has giving up she will throw you into what is left of the Mammon Machine (I guess the brown thing behind her is the Mammon Machine). After destroying the Mammon Machine, Queen Zeal will fight you once again in a different form (its important you do not attack the hands) after beating her second form she summons Lavos and Lavos destroys the Black Omen. The only thing left for you to do is to destroy Lavos. Look to another section for info on that. BTW, destroying the Black Omen was the last thing the Guru Of Time wanted you to do back in the End Of Time. ============================================================================ E N D I N G S ============================================================================ These sections deals with the many endings this game has. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The way you get to Lavos: If doesn't really matter how you get to lavos, if you crash into him with teh Epoch you'll see a scene of you flying thru his shell (and Chrono and Marle will be floating up on balloons at the end of the regular ending), if you go thru the Black Omen to fight him you will have to fight all of the boss characters before (but this is the only way you'll ever be able to access the New Game + afterwords). If you use the bucket nothing really changes. --- 1. "Dream Team" Ending In a "new game +" jump onto the right telepod right at teh beggining of the game (when teh save file reads The Millenium Fair), after you defeat Lavos you will be back at the end of time, here you can talk with all of the people who created the game, each of the characters in the game represent a different person of the CT Development Team. They say a variety of things soem of them joking about all the work they put into the game, boasting about thier work, etc. One says: "Legendary programmer waiting for that special someone keep those cards and letters coming!". Another dares you to beat the score of 2300 in the Bike Race in 2300 A.D. Another way to get this ending is to beat Lavos at the Ocean Palace in 12000 B.C. (doesn't Lavos seem tougher there???). --- 2. "Frog & Leene" Ending Use the right telepod as soon as you get back from 600 A.D. After you defeat Lavos you'll be back at teh fair the people there will say the princess is wearing a costume...try to exit the Fair and 2 guards will return Marle to the castle, while at the castle teh king acts strangely and says they have just found a 400 year-old wedding film. You will now see the film and at the end you will see frog kiss the-bride-to-be Leene, he married Leene! And therefore everyone in your family is a frog, except for you. --- 3. "Nu & Ribbit" Ending Use the bucket at teh End Of Time the first time you get there to fight and defeat Lavos. This ending doesn't have much to do with teh plot of the game. A Nu is asleep while a Ribbit harasses it, you will se various antics of this sort, the words "THE END" have two Zs above it. --- 4. "Tata The Hero" Ending Beat Lavos after Tata is mistaken to be the hero but before you get the Hero Medal from him. The 1st scene shows Robo & Atropos (his friend) getting in a fight *chuckle* in front of Leene's bell in the future, the 2nd scene shows Tat sitting on the throne with the King & Leene, Tata sees Magus jumps off of the throne, and runs after him. Only to find Crono, Lucca, Marle, & Magus laughing at him. --- 5. "Closing Scenes" Ending Beat Lavos as soon as you have the Masamune, during the credits you see various scenes you havent or won't see in teh game...Crono, Marle, & Lucca coming out of the closet in Medina Village; Kino & Ayla chasing Reptites; Magus at his cove with his 3 henchmen; King Guardia & Queen Leene; Frog in the Cursed Woods; and at teh end Robo running across teh screen. --- 6. "Stills" Ending Beat Lavos after you get teh gate key back in 65 million B.C. You will see pics of the main characters in the game clustered around the credits. --- 7. "Frog & Magus" Ending Beat Lavos after teh Masamune is restored, and Frog joins you. During the credits you will see various scenes of Frog, he defeats all 3 of Magus's henchmen, then goes after Magus himself. After the battle you see someone standing on top of Magus's Castle whether it is Frog Or Magus I don't know. --- 8. "Reptite Takeover" Ending Defeat Lavos right after you defeat Magus (Ayla will wake you up in 65 Million B.C.). The opening scenes are repeated except everyone (except the Green Ambler who is human) are all Reptites. Azala is alone at the end and teh words "THE END" fall on her. --- 9. "Magus" Ending Beat Lavos as soon as you defeat Azala and the Black Tyrano at the Tyrano Castle, during teh credits you will see Frog praying in front of the statue of Magus in the cathedral. You will also see a number of scenes with Schala, Queen Zeal, Janus and Magus. --- 10. "Crono's Dead" Ending Use the Bucket at the End Of Time before you restore Crono...when you defeat Lavos you will be back at teh End Of Time you can control the characters go and talk to the Old Man he will say that the gates are sealing off & also that everyone must leave, everyone goes back to their respective times. Marle walks in teh moonlight parade by herslef she sees all of the party members in teh crowd. When she goes to where the Telepod is they are all there, all of the other characters go to find Crono, adn then Marle goes and sees her father and installs the new bell, Marle is then carried off by the balloons and she lands on the top of Death Peak, and in the distance you can see Crono coming, Marle runs to him and the screen fades to black. --- 11. "Frog & Glenn w/o Magus" Ending If you defeat Magus a second time in 12000 B.C. he will tell you that he will release the curse on Frog. Go to the End Of Time and use the bucket to find and defeat Lavos right after defeating Magus the 2nd time but without restoring Crono. This ending is the same as #12 except that all of the otehr party members come out of the gate at the fairgrounds....the one human is Frog...and Lucca thinks he's quite a hunk! And the other members go back for Crono and the king hands Marle the bell and they leave on the Epoch while teh king is stuck trying to put up the bell. If you crashed into Lavos with the Epoch the ending is almost the exact same as the "No Crono" Ending except that Magus doesn't appear. --- 12. "Family Reunion" Ending Defeat Lavos after restoring Crono, a soldier wil wake Crono up, and tell him that he must be executed now. Crono goes to the castle and all of the past characters (Kino, Ayla, Doan, King Guardia from 600 A.D.) they all say what the team has done. If you save the chancellor he will be there, otherwise Pierre wil be there, Marle realizes this characters are her ancestors and descendants. After the Moonlight parade at the fair all of the members leave to thier respective times. Marle comes back out and talks to her dad, The King, after AMrle puts the bell up she floats away to the sky and the credits roll (if you crashed with the Epoch into Lavos) if you didn't she will take off in the epoch while teh king i stuck trying hang the bell. --- 13. "THE BEST" Ending Defeat Lavos after restoring Crono with Crono, Lucca, & Marle in your party. The ending is pretty much the same as above except that Lucca & Marle talk about the 'Entity' they were talking about in front of the campfire in the Southern Forest. Not much of a difference to the above ending, #12. Also use the Epoch to crash into Lavos. --- 14. "Doomsday" Ending Challenge Lavos and lose. Lavos will single-handedly destroy the entire world. Not a very happy way to end the game. ============================================================================ T I P S & T R I C K S ============================================================================ 1) Zeal Treasure: Those black chests in the houses of certain people, and also in Guardia Castle can be opened with Marle's Pendant after it is powered up. But before you go opening chests, hop into the Epoch and go to 600 A.D. go thru all the houses & Inns and look for the black chests, when you find a black chest press A to open it when it asks you to open it, reply "No" then after doing this to all of the treasures..go to 1000 A.D. and go into the houses that have the chests and open them you will get a much powerful item inside. After opening all the chests in 1000 A.D. you can go back to 600 A.D. and pick up the original items too. One example is the Nova Armor in the Northern Ruins in 600 A.D. if said "No" to picking up it will "evolve" into the Moon Armor in 1000 A.D. --- 2) Charm:You can use Ayla's Magical Tch "Charm" to steal itmes from enemies. Use "Twin Charm" for a more powerful effect on the enemy. --- 3) Dreaming: The Triple Tech invoked by the Gold Rock (Grand Dream) gets stronger every time you use it. --- 4) Fists: Ayla gets the Iron Fist at Level 72 (it randomly causes Chaos), Ayla will also get the Bronze Fist at Level 98 (if a critical hit occurs the enemy will have 9999 HP taken away). --- 5) Tech Points: Defeat the Sidekicks in the Black Omen to get tons of tech points. --- 6) To get the "New Game +" option destroy the Black Omen and defeat Lavos. The "New Game +" option lets you start a new game with your characters at the levels they were when you got to the end of the first game. --- 7) Purple Nu: When everyon is at Level 90 or above Spekkio will go into his Nu form. Equip white mails on everyone, have Crono, Marle, & Ayla. Be sure to heal yourself because he can use Halutation (HP down to one)...if you defeat him you will ge 10 of each tab type and 10 Megalixirs. ============================================================================ A C C E S S O R Y C H A R T ============================================================================ \--------------------------------------------------------------------------/ |NAME |EFFECT... | |-----------|--------------------------------------------------------------| |Amulet |Protects you from Status Changes | |Bandana |Speed +1 | |Berserker |Automatic Attack / Hit & Defense Up | |Black Rock |Invokes the Triple Technique "DarkEternal." | |Blue Rock |Invokes the Triple Technique "OmegaFlare." | |Charm Top |Powers up Ayla's "Charm" technique. | |Dash Ring |Speed +3 | |Defender |Vigor +2 | |Flea Vest |Magic Defense +12 | |Frenzy Band|You will counter-attack 80% of the time when hit. | |Gold Erng |Character's Max HP is up by 50% | |Gold Rock |Invokes the triple technique "Grand Dream". | |Gold Stud |Character's MP use is cut by 75%. | |GreenDream |Revives the equipped character once when he/she dies. | |Hero Medal |Boosts the critical hit rate of the Masamune. | |Hit Ring |Ups Offense and Hit by 10 | |Magic Ring |Ups Magic Power by 6. | |Magic Seal |Ups Magic Power by 5, and Magic Defense by 5 | |Magic Scarf|Ups Magic Power by 2. | |Muscle Ring|Ups "Vigor" by 6. | |Power Ring |Ups Power by 6. | |Power Seal |Offense, Power, Defense & Stamina are increased. | |Power Glove|Ups Power by 2. | |Power Scarf|Ups Power by 4. | |Prism Specs|Ups character's Attack Power to the max. | |Rage Band |You will counter-attack 50% of the time when hit. | |Ribbon |Ups your critical hit rate and Offense by 2. | |Sight Scope|Shows enemy's HP. | |Silver Erng|Character's Max HP is up by 25%. | |Silver Rock|Invokes triple tech. GIGA GAIA MOUNTAIN OF WOE IN 12000 BC Be at level 40 (WOA!) when you fight this beast. It is a good idea to eauip some armor tht absorbs Fire Magic. Just attack the head ignore the arms and heal yourself when needed. As long as you have Fire Magic-Absorbing armor on the battle is easy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21. DALTON ZEAL PALACE IN 12000 B.C. Attack him like you would the Golems. And use the same strategy as in equipping yourself with a type of armor that absorbs the magic you are to use against him... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22. GOLEM TWINS UNDERSEA PALACE IN 12000 BC Be at level 45 by now. Use Crono, Marle & Lucca. Now it may be a good idea to use the type of armor that absorbs the type of magic you are going to use and use spells that attack both of the 2...like Ice 2, Fire 2, or Lightning 2. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23. LAVOS UNDERSEA PALACE IN 12000 BC It doesn't really matter whethor or not you win this battle here...in fact YOU HAVE TO LOSE TO KEEP THE GAME GOING! Lavos seems very strong here... and he is because you are so weak....so just relax and let him beat you. (I THINK THAT LAVOS IS MUCH MORE STRONGER IN THIS PLACE THAN HE IS AT THE END OF THE GAME! DON'T YOU THINK??? Mail me at tgz6@yahoo.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 24. GOLEM BOSS BLACKBIRD IN 12000 B.C. Just attack him until he dies or run away he won't attack you at all. You meet him on the lower edge of the left wing of the Blackbird. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 25. DALTON PLUS ON THE EPOCH IN 12000 B.C. Just attack him until he summons the Golem Boss and is swept into a Gate. He won't give you too much trouble if you are fairly experienced just use your strongest spells. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26. LAVOS SPAWN DEATH'S PEAK IN 2300 A.D. Be at level 50 when you fight these clones of Lavos on the Death's Peak. Use your strongest spells like Magus's Darkmatter, or use a powerful Triple Tech like Gatling Kick to kill him quickly. Be careful of his needlespin attack, it can damage you a lot. Don't be surprised if you lose they are tough to beat. It would be best not to attack the shell. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 27. RETINITE SUNKEN DESERT IN 600 A.D. Be at level 60 when you fight him. Have Magus, Crono, & Robo. First destroy the core then use Ice 2 to bring its defenses down, then attack it with a Physical Tech like, Max Cyclone, Cyclone, Uzzi Punch, Confuse, or Robo Tackle....because magic won't hurt it. Then after you attack him once use Ice 2 again the use the physical tech again (I reccommend Uzzi Punch but you probably don't have it now), and repeat the cycle til it dies. Heal yourself when needed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 28. SLASH OZZIE'S FORT IN 600 A.D. Be at level 63 by now. Just attack him....it shouldn't be that tough of a battle, if your at Level 60. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 29. FLEA OZZIE'S FORT IN 600 A.D. Be at level 63 by now....do the same as teh previous just attack. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 30. GREAT OZZIE OZZIE'S FORT IN 600 A.D. SUPER SLASH FLEA PLUS Be at level 63. Unfortunately, this battle isn't as easy as the past 2. Do not attack Ozzie (or you will be lambasted by a Shadow Triple Tech), attack Slash (you will get countered but it is not as damaging) until he dies then if Flea doesn't run away attack him (not her remember) until he dies, or runs away....then go after Ozzie himself, he'll give up and leave after a while. Use the strongest Double & Triple Techs you ahve against these guys....also HEAL yourself....it may be a good idea to have Marle in your party for this battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 31. GREAT OZZIE OZZIE'S FORT IN 600 A.D. Thought it was over didn't you....Ozzie will chat with Magus if he is in your party then he will protect himself with another Ice Barrier like the one you saw when you fought him in Magus's Castle....just like in the other battle with him, hit one of the switches behind him....except this time you will fall thru a hole. When you land go back up stairs and talk to Ozzie again, now a Cat will come out and flip a switch on the wall and give Ozzie his well-deserved demise. Stupid moron if you ask me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 32. ATROPOS XR GENO DOME IN 2300 A.D. Have Robo at level 70 when you fight him. It won't be that hard of a battle just use Uzzi Punch and Area Bomb against him. When he dies he will blow up.....then you will get a ribbon for Robo, as Atropos dies....*sniff* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 33. MOTHER BRAIN GENO DOME IN 2300 A.D. First, destroy all of the montiors behind here by attacking them...when they are all gone she will respond by causing a earthquake....but now she can't be healed. Now attack her with your strongest Magic Techs, Double Techs, & Triple Techs to kill her. Be at level 70 for this fight...when she dies you will get Robo's Ultimate Weapon the Terra Arm and the weakest weapon in the game, The Crisis Arm. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 34. RUST TYRANO GIANT'S CLAW IN 600 A.D. Remember him??? Be at level 75 for this battle, wait until he starts to roar then start attacking him with Gatling Kick until he releases his Fiery Breath on your team (you could just equip everyone with Red Mails, or Red Vests to combat that easily) then heal yourself back up, then just wait until he starts roaring again then start using Gatling Kick again and repeat until he dies, when he dies continue on to find the Rainbow Shell Examine it and you'll try to pick it up, its too heavy. Start going back and you'll get a scene of the Knight Captain going to get the Rainbow Shell. Have Ayla, Lucca, & Crono in your party for this battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 35. YAKRA XIII COURTROOM IN 1000 A.D. Have Magus, Crono, & Lucca in your party for this battle, be at Level 80 now. Attack Yakra with DarkMatter and Firesword 2 to damage him the most. Heal yourself frequently because of the Needlespin attack that he uses, he also uses Blizzard which can confuse a ally. Keep on attacking him with FireSword 2, and DarkMatter until he dies. After teh scene of Marle and her dad....go back into the court room and pick up the shiny thing that Yakra left after he died its a key to the locked chest in one of the staircases use it to get the Real Chancellor out. After Marle & the King are finished talkign Melchoir shows up go down into the basement of the castle where the Rainbow Shell is and talk to him there he will make you some very powerful weapons and armor from the Rainbow Shell. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 36. SON OF SUN SUN PALACE IN 2300 A.D. Attack the fire around the Eye. If you hit the wrong one the attack will be countered by a fireball. If you hit the right one it will damage the eye. Attack the eyes til you find the right onw, and attack it until the Son Of Sun does a Roulette Shuffle and reverses them. Just keep on looking for the right fire and hit it to damage him. When the Son Of Sun is about to die you will get the message, "Son Of Sun losing it's fire." And the Son Of Sun will retreat follow it and get the moonstone it changes into. Wear some fire-magic absorbant or resistant armor to make this battle much easier. ============================================================================ S P E K K I O ' S S E T S ============================================================================ \--------------------------------------------------------------------------/ |FORM |SET WON | |-------------|------------------------------------------------------------| |Kilwala |Special Refresher (1 Magic Tab, 2 Ethers) | |Goblin |Choice (1 Magic Tab, 5 Midethers) | |Omnicrone |Healthy Choice (1 Magic Tab, Fullethers) | |Blue Masamune|Graceful Set (1 Magic, Power, and Speed Tab; 10 Elixirs) | |Pink Nu |Cheerful (10 Magic, Power, and Speed Tabs; 10 MegaElixirs) | /--------------------------------------------------------------------------\ ============================================================================ D E F E A T L A V O S ============================================================================ The fight against Lavos goes in 3 stages. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1ST PHASE - THE LAVOS SHELL Have Crono, Lucca, & Ayla. Equip Gold and/or Silver Studs on everyone and be at the highest level you can be, and have teh strongest armor equipped that you have. You can skip this phase if you use the Epoch to transport to the "Day Of Lavos". If you enter "The Day Of Lavos" from the Right Telepod at the Millenial Fair in a New Game +, Lavos will not go into his nine forms. The forms and abilities he can take (if you use the Black Omen to get to Lavos) are that of Dragon Tank, Guardian Bit, Heckran, Zombor, Masamune, Nizbel, Magus, Black Tyrano & Azala, Giga Gaia..this in effect maks you fight all of the major bosses in the game over again<--A CONCEPT SERIOUSLY OVERDONE IN RPGS AND ACTION GAMES! If there are any bosses that ahve 2 parts, such as the Black Tyrano & Azala; or Giga Gaia, there will be a thing called the Lavos Bit that mimics that action of the other parts...you need not to worry about them just attack Lavos. Anyway, you will only have to fight the nine forms if you use the Black Omen to get to Lavos or if you have defeated ALL of the bosses in the game (this includes Bosses in the Sub-Quests). Once you defeat all 9 forms of Lavos (explained above), you will then have to fight Lavos himself attack him with Gatling Kick until he dies. When he dies he will scream, and the traingular part of him with the eye will disappear leaving a hole....you will go in the hole automatically. Here go up into the next screen, and enter the next phase. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2ND PHASE - THE TRUE LAVOS Have Crono, Lucca, & Ayla. Equip Gold and/or Silver Studs on everyone and be at the highest level you can be, and have teh strongest armor equipped that you have. Here heal yourself when needed and attack both of his arms until they are destroyed then attack the Body of Lavos with the Gatling Kick....I personally use teh Gatling Kick since I think it is the strongest attack in the game. You can also attack the Arms with the Gatling Kick. Anyway, use a Megalixir when you need to..and when lavos dies you will see teh actual heart of Lavos...the Core...Lavos took all the DNA of any and every creature or human that lived on the earth and it combined it with its own making itself more stronger and the strongest creature by way of a speeded up Evoloution, and by combining its DNA with the creatures it found here it gave birth to thos Lavos Spawns you saw on Death's Peak eventually the Lavos Spawns have to migrate to other planets and crash into them and then suck all of the life out of them then create other Spawns, completing the life cycle.....humans were raised just to meet the needs of Lavos, created like Sheep..and then we were led to the slaughter....but it ends here and NOW! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3RD PHASE - LAVOS'S CORE Have Crono, Lucca, & Ayla. Equip Gold and/or Silver Studs on everyone and be at the highest level you can be, and have teh strongest armor equipped that you have. First off USE A MEGALIXIR TO HEAL YOURSELF_IIMMMMEEEDDDDIIIAATTTEEELY! Then, attack the left part (bit) of the core, with Physical attacks, like Weapon attacks, Crono's Confuse Tech, or Ayla's Triple Kick tech, until it dies then wait for the message to appear that says, "Lavos Core shuts off Defense." Then attack the RIGHT part (bit) of the Lavos's Core with Gatling Kick until it dies...if it revives the lost left bit attack it again til it dies then go after the right one again. When the right bit dies....CONGRATS YOU HAVE WON THE GAME! (all the other bits die when the right one dIes... quite easy for a final form don't you think??? Just seems that it is just a matter of strategy rather than strength.) ============================================================================ C R E D I T S ============================================================================ KURRIGAN for a little info on items like the Moon Armor.
