GOVERNOR PUNJAB
LIEUTENANT GENERAL (RETIRED) MUHAMMAD SAFDAR
Governor
Punjab Lieutenant general Muhammad Safdar ( retired ) was commissioned
in a battalion of the Punjab Regiment of Pakistan Army in 1954.
He
served in various key appointments during his meritorious cater in the
Army. Renowned as a soldier, scholar, the Governor designate headed the
prestigious National Defence College and Command and Staff College, Quetta.
He has also remained Chief of the General Staff at General Headquarters.
Soon
after his retirement, Lieutenant General Muhammad Safdar was appointed
as Pakistans Ambassador to Morocco, an appointment that he held
from 1990 to 1992. He has also headed the University of Punjab as its
Vice Chancellor from 1993 to 1997.
