- Statistical software that does exploratory analyses and draws

- Mineralogy - Relational database that allow the identification and description of minerals based on their physical proprieties.
That software won a prize, and has been published
by the Portuguese educational ministry (BASIC 1989).
- Environment - Database management system that records the physical,
chemical and climatological data collected by the environment
department in the Neves-Corvo mine. (FOXPRO for DOS 1992).
- Bibliography - Bibliographic database to support the partners
of the Minor Elements In Copper Concentrates Project sponsored
by the Brite-EuRam II - EEC. (FOXPRO for Windows 1993).
- Concentrate Sales - database system that intends to evaluate
and analyse the differences between the grades and concentrate
quantities measured by Somincor and the different buyers, because
both values are used in the payment formula. (FOXPRO for Win 93).
- Mine - Data collection and database development of a system
that allows the analyses of all the technical information of underground
works. The system measures the productivity
of the main mine activities; recording not only quantity indicators,
but also the time and the human resources spent in the accomplishment
of those activities. (FOXPRO for Windows 93/96)
- Simulation software that allows planning the blending of concentrates
in order to maximise the Net Smelter Revenue, calculating the
optimum concentrate to sell to each costumer, according to the market
conditions and the mine output.

- Mineralogical Multimedia Encyclopaedia work edited and
distributed in CD-ROM, by Texto-Editora. International version (in English) available soon. This

the underground works during 3 months. Integrated the planning
Department, where collaborated in the design of the infrastructure,
execution of production plans and production monitoring. responsible
for the feasibility study of using a tunnelling machine in the soft
rock areas of the mine. Developed software to compare the production
plans to the reality in daily basis.
- MAY 90 - Has integrated the Research & Development
Department, where started by producing several statistical
studies, mainly in the metallurgical area. Produced laboratorial
metallurgic studies of: floatation, grinding, crushing, gravimetical
tables, hydrocyclones, size analyses, leaching, bio-leaching,
effluents treatment., etc. Shift overseer in a Pilot Scale Campaign
where several flowsheets were tried in a polimetalic sulphide
ore (Aljustrel Pilot Plant). Shift overseer in a Pilot Scale Campaign where tin concentrates were tried to be leached in order to increase
their grade (Aljustrel Pilot Plant). Participated in the project:
"New integrated flowsheets for separation and recovery
of minor elements from sulphide ores", integrated in
the Brite-EuRam II - EEC.
Became more and more absorbed in developing
and implementing software solutions, mainly in the gathering,
analysis and linking of data from several areas of the company.
Participated in the development and implementation of a Management
System that intended to integrate all technical and economical
parameters of the company, starting in extraction and ending
up in sales. Besides the reporting capacities, that system also
allows the calculation of impact in the revenue, by changing individual
production costs, quantities and specifications. Appointed System
Manager.Performing as internal consultant to the Technical Services Manager
