He randomly travels from place to place and he has no memory of being born or having any kind of childhood. To his knowledge he was never taught how to use a sword, but he knows that he is lethal with the weapon. Not having a childhood gives him a slight disadvantage because he don't speak the native tongue. In fact the only language he knows is that of emotions.
