So I saw "Knockaround Guys" last night, but I have to say something else first.
Man I want to see "Phone Booth." I've been waiting for this project since, fuck, Will Smith was reported to star, and Michael Bay was going to direct. That was more than 3 years ago. Shit. Jim Carrey was going to be in it. So was Ray Liotta, but not in the main role. But oh well, Colin Farrell is pretty fucking awesome on his own.
But anyway, if you don't know about this, it's about a guy who answers a ringing telephone in the middle of New York, and it turns out that there is a sniper waiting to shot him down if he hangs up or tells anybody. It's going to be awesome. BUT. It has to do with a sniper. And unless you've been in a hole in for the last couple of weeks, you know that there is a sniper in real life, picking random people off. Now, I hope you have figured out what happens next. The easiest analogy is "Sept 11 is to No terrorist/bomb movies as Beltway sniper is to _________" Did you fill in the blank? That's right, the answer is "no sniper movies." Watch for the ads to be pulled soon. Fuckers. They better not pull this movie. It's been through so much hell, it deserves it's release. It has earned it's November release. Oh well, shit happens I guess. At least we get some Colin in "The Recruit" pretty soon.
That's all I really have to say for today.
Oh, right. "Knockaround Guys" wasn't that bad.
