This is a 25 year old shot of yours truly sitting at the wheel of his favorite car ever. It was a '65 with a '68 auto tranny and a '67 289-2bbl. These two major modifications had made it far more driveable than its original Cobra 4 speed linked to a 289-4bbl. It still had the dual stubby exhausts (remember the sound of Thrush mufflers?) and part of the free exchange included a nice wooden console. Here's a shot of the interior.
The passenger bucket was ripped as you can see. A nice big tach sat on the steering column with a couple of Smith gauges, oil pressure and water temp as I recall, nicely tucked into the console. In case you are wondering, the tractor in the background is a Massey-Harris Pony, you'll find it listed in lots of old tractor books. Its still running (will someone please shut it off!!) at my parent's home, north of Kingston, Ontario.
