THE GAELIC LANGUAGE


The Republic of Ireland is officially bilingual - almost all road signs have place names in both English and Gaelic. English is the spoken language everywhere except for a few parts of the far west, called Gaeltachts. Here are some of the words that you are most likely to come across.
