With the move from Champaign, IL to the Chicagoland area, we decided our 4-cylinder engine Plymouth Breeze wasn't going to have enough 'Umph' for the busy traffic. But now that we're back in Champaign, it was just a good excuse for a convertible. Actually, we just wanted more 'GO' when pushing on the gas pedal when needed. Therefore, we decided to purchase my college goal a little early and signed papers for my dream car, the Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Chrysler has definately got a winner with this automobile. Words can not describe how much I enjoy this car.

There are several different colors in which the Sebring is available for '98:

  • Flame Red/Bean Family Red. (JX Model only)
  • Candy Apple Red Metallic
  • Forest Green Pearl Coat
  • Platinum Metallic
  • Intense Blue Pearl Coat (JX Model only)
  • Alpine Green Pearl Coat
  • Deep Slate Pearl Coat
  • Deep Amethyst Pearl Coat
  • Bright White
  • Champagne Pearl Coat

With all these choices, how would I decide??? I was raised with Bean Family Red in my blood. Bright red sportscars are a family trademark so who was I to break tradition. Since I was a little girl I have wanted a Bright Red convertible, so it was Flame Red for me. It has a camel (tan) vinyl top and camel cloth interior. We started the hunt for the car late this summer of '97, when we decided to move to Chicago. However, we couldn't find a Sebring that was red with the options that we wanted. I wanted the JX model because I'm not particularly fond of leather interior (which comes standard with the JXi model). When we almost decided to give up our search, we stumbled upon the exact match of what we were looking for in Urbana, IL by chance. At the dealership, the owner had been driving a '97 model that was exactly what we wanted. We purchased the car as a demo with very low mileage and got full warranty from Chrysler. What a deal!

The car draws rave reviews wherever we go. This is the first convertible either Chris or I have ever owned and we love it. I'm really beginning to hate fall because it's the end of "topless" season. I just ache for days where I can put the top down and blast the stereo to my favorite Retro Tunes (show plug, I miss my on-air personality days!!!)

Awesome Car, Lots Of Fun, If it's over 60 degrees-the top is down!!!
