I could not beleive it. A friend who has used Voyetra software for years on a PC informed me that a new windows sequencer has just been released. Called Digital Orchestrator Pro, it puts that sad program Cake Walk to deserved shame. The only problem is that is takes on a funtionality that impresses even me. It's inteface is very good. It has features that Bars&Pipes combined with Studio 16 is begging for, and it only cost $120 switching with competitive upgrade offer from Voyetra. Why do I mention it on my new Amiga, B&P page? A couple of good reasons. For one it is still running under windows. I down loaded the free demo, but had to disable my SB16 card and chage video modes before it would stop crashing WIN95. It would only let me open one option window at a time. I had to make my change then close the option window before using another one. More typical windows OS irritations that keep me on my Amiga. I think Voyetra is a good company. I've seen their other softwares and own one of their turtle beach moterey 18bit sound cards. It's very similar to the AD516 in funtion and sound quality. I would put serious thought into winning them over to the Amiga OS in the future if the Amiga makes a good come back. Especially if Bars & Pipes becomes doomed to rot in the basement of MS. Their sample graphical EQ is one thing I would definitly pay for. BUT it's not real time. Stop playback, move a slider, let the system recalculate, them play again to see if it sounds right. I can't tell if it sounds right unless the changes are in real time, so it doesn't seem to help me much. Take an enhanced version to Amiga OS and wow! Just as I'm starting this site, this new software shook me and my B&P, but after trying it out for a couple of evenings I still feel B&P on Amiga has a small edge. But we should get Voyetra on our side I think.
