Removing the Shortcut Arrows on your Icons

These are controlled by two files in the system registry. What you can do is simply Remove them! :) Of course you might want to Back-Up your current registry so that you can just use the Back-Up if something does go wrong, to learn how to back up, go to the Registry section.

Delete both of these Keys

  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\LNKFILE\IsShortcut
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PIFFILE\IsShortcut

Doing that will make it so you don't have those wonderful shortcut arrows on your shortcut files!
