How E-Mail Clients Works

(sorry it's short)

When an E-Mail client checks your e-mail, it first downloads them, when it is finished downloading ALL of the messages, it will then go back and remove all the old ones.

If you have having a multiple e-mail messages, might be because it didn't download all the way.
