(untitled)

Like a candle in the gloom
Lighting up a darkened room,
Untouched by shadows of your own
Helping those whose dark has grown;
Like a flower in the land
Where all you see is burning sand,
Not succumbing to the dry
Your beauty helping others try;
Like an angel torn from home
Into the pits of torment thrown,
But with your beauty and your light
You rise like dawn out of the night;
And together hand in hand
We can have the strength to stand,
Long may this love shine like the sun,
Two hearts that beat in time as one.
