The Pearly Gates

The pearly gates of heaven
The unconquerable wall
Boldly standing stable
Impenetrable to all
Holding back the enemies
Keeping allies out
Protecting King or God within
From the world that exists without.
An almost silent whisper,
A softly spoken word,
The pearly gates set rattling
By this tactic yet unheard,
As gentle as a feather
It tears away the wall,
Then stepping o'er the rubble
I see what made my defence fall,
Silhouetted in daylight,
Blinding, but so warm,
Love takes away my shadows,
Draws me out into the dawn,
God I am no longer,
Neither king nor Lord,
Humbled by the truth of light
I see myself once more,
So easily invaded,
But never made to fall,
No one else has come but you
To my side of the wall.
