Information Systems Engineering ISE 165 Project: S.J.S.U. Student Informations and Registration System (S.I.R.S.) Database This project is to develop a web-based online registration system for
San José State University. It will replace
the current registration system and provide online access to students. The functions of this system are classified into
two groups: Students access functions and Administration functions. 1.1 Project Overview The Student access functions: · Access course schedule, which helps a student search, check, display
and print out a course schedule for a given semester.
There are three types of course schedule: a. course schedules in the past
semesters, b. the current course schedule, and c. new course schedules for future
semesters · Course registration function, which can be used by students to
register one or more courses, listed in the course current schedule. All constraints of the course registration in San
José State University must be followed · Add course function which is used to add course(s) into his/her course
record · Delete course function which is used to drop course(s) from his/her
course record · Student information access to registration status, credit courses,
grade and GPA · Student tuition computation and printable bill The Administration access functions: · Schedule creation/update · Course creation/deletion · Section creation/deletion · Access a student registration record by search for any or all
semesters · Course tuition management to maintain the cost information for each
