My name is Lau Ah Leng and I graduated from University of Singapore in 1980. Since then I have been practicing as a consulting engineer in the field of structural and water engineering. I have been involved in design of high rise buildings in reinforced concrete and factories in structural steel.  I have also carried out design of water treatment plants, reservoirs, elevated towers and pipelines. My involvement in water works cover process design, structural and foundation design. In addition, I have a special interest in transient hydraulic or surge analysis (water hammer), protecting pipelines from adverse surge pressures.

I love computer programming, hence, during my practice as an engineer, I have developed numerous computer programs to assist in my day to day work. I started programming since the days of Apple II plus computer, and I have upgraded those programs from AppleSoft Basic to today's Visual Basic as well as VBA for Excel. I continue to develop new programs these days, whenever I have the time.

With the advent of IT technology, I have set up  this web site to publish some of my more useful programs that I have developed to share with more engineers and scientists in the world. Most of the programs will be released as 'Free' shareware. Hope you will find them useful and any comments and suggestions will be much appreciated.
