Here is where you will find all of the old news:
The new URL to the web site is now going to be http://www.netforward.com/cryogen.com/?gardion I have not actually changed web page service providers but I alternate between Geocities and Toptown This URL will take you to the most updated site all the time. See next article for more details
There is a cool service called Netforward. They allow you to choose an email address which you give to your friends which will then forward all your mail to your real address. This can be useful if you change Internet servers or (Or if you want a different name for your email address). The second benefit they offer is a Web page forwarding service which means that the URL of your web site will never change even if you change web page providers. (Also the URL is much better than Geocities if you have a web page at Geocities.) I am using this service
Nonags is a web site that provides software (mostly free) that is actually Free and the software does not nag, cripple itself, time-bomb or otherwise disable itself after a period of time. Most of it is free and there is very few shareware that meets NoNags Critirea. Unfortunately it only has windows software but hopefully they will add Mac software later on.
I must apologize for saying that Geocities does not listen. They have finally added the application/x-javascript mimetype which will greatly benefeit those of you with NetscapeNavigator 3.0 or later. Toptown is supporting the application/x-javascript mime type again. (after the FTP server went done some of the mime types needed reconfiguring).
Netscape Communicator preview release 2 has been released on all platforms. Click here to go to the download site.
If you are in grade 11 or 12 you might want to check out Counsellors suite. It has some useful links that I put there myself.
It is my Birthday today and I am turning 18.
See what Valentines day is really
about (and solve a problem at the same time) After today you will need
to click here
I messed up on the names of the deseased. Sorry, they should be correct now.
Last night I injured my thumb during soccer practice. It got me out of doing an essay that was due for today. Instead, it will be due tomorow. Luckily we didn't do to much today since unfortunately someone in grade 12 died this morning in the hospital.
This is the third death within three years. Brittany McDowell just recently
passed away in the hospital. The senario: Brittany and two other guys were
skiing offbounds at Cypress. Brittany somehow fell off of a cliff, and
the two boys went to get some help. When they came back they found she
had fallen furthur and had fallen into a creek. She finally managed to
get into a hospital and died in the morning. I am not too clear on the
details so don't quote me on anything.
The second death within the two years was that of William Evon McCreery
(probably wrong spelling). This boy decided to commit suicide by hanging
himself. From what I hear he was a nice boy. I hear he had been on some
drugs at the time. This makes me wonder how well anybody really knew him
if this shocked us all. Would we have been so shocked if we had known him
better?
The first death which happened last school year was that of Jess Debeck.
This was probably the most tragic of them all. Why? Because he had done
nothing dangerous or stupid and did not take his own life. Will, when he
was driving home with a friend decided to pull over since he and his friend
were drunk. They decided to go to sleep. The problem? They left a candle
on in the car and did not have any windows open. This candle took away
all of the oxygene. Both he and his friend died. (He may have been bye
himself since there was not much talk of a friend).
I am now playing Barcarolle for viola on my viola. If you want to hear it click on Barcarolle
Toptown is still not accepting files and unfortunately the mimetype configuration has been messed up. I hope this will improve in the next few days. Until then it looks like it will be Geocities.
It is that time again. The 8 week anniversary. For your listening pleasure here is Children by Robert Miles playing in the backround.
The senior girls Basketball won the game 82:19. It was not a close game. I prefere close games but It was still fun to watch. People who scored included Amy Ewart, Jessie, Michelle Huntington and some others. The next two games will be tomorow and the day after. One down, two to go.
Lets give a hand to Markv for being the 300th person to see this page. Speaking of Mark, I have modified the pages you wanted, Mark. They are markv1.htm The index and main2.htm the main2.htm page. Crescendo now works with Internet explorer.
Yes, all the links are now working on the kits webpage. The course booklet is now up so it will be removed from this site shortly. We already had to remove something from the webpage. It had to do with the "fish fertilizer incident". In case you forgot the URL to the Kitsilano Website is :http://stargate.vsb.bc.ca/kitsilano
Crescendo 3.0 beta 1 is availible. It is worth getting. It allows you to stop all instances of cresendo and you can "detach" the embeded crescendo from the page so when you leave the page you will still hear the song.
I did fine on my french test thanks to the studiying I did. I'll be going on a ski trip tomorrow so you may not hear from me for a while.
For those of you that are going I'll see you at the Senior Girls Basketball game on monday.
I reworked the site and now a School work page is up. This includes the student course planning guide. You will get the download crescendo message before a midi starts playing.
What would YOU like to see on this site? Email me and tell me what you want to see. If you are the 300th person Email me and let me know.
Well, Firstly the school webpage is up (althought not all of the links work. It can be found at http://stargate.vsb.bc.ca/kitsilano It is far from complete but at least it's up and will be modified frequently.
Secondly, I have been elected as student representative for the technologie commitee This is good. Now I'll have a say in were the money goes. Hopefully I'll make good decisions.
Recently, I got a *job* creating webpages (and modifying some) at http://www.cranefield.com I'll let people know how this goes.
Toptown now supports javascript files. Unlike geocities who really couldn't be bothered. This will enable me to do some neat things with Javascript and put it in a shared file. It's just so much more convinient.
For those of you that care, I have two files one of which contains some calculus notes and un page Française which contains words with their definitions. Hopefully some javascript will make them more useful.
I have been busy the last little while. Although there has been no formal updates there has been a couple of bug fixes through out this page. Did you know toptown now supports Midi? Well they do. That is one of the things that I have fixed (hopefully). I have tried to make sure that the midi would work with the various netscape versions and Internet Explorer.
The School webpage will be up sometime after next monday. I will post It whether It is ready or not. There will be a link to our webpage when it is up. (This should be the link when it is up: Kitsilano)
I have recently learned that if you have installed a new plugin for Netscape you can simply click here you can reload your new plugin and you do not have to restart Netscape. This applies to version 3.0 and later.
Netscape Navigator 4.0 has been released. Check out Netscape's home site. It has been called Netscape Comunicator which is basically a suite with Netscape Navigator 4.0 as it's browser. Although it is a prerelease (beta 1) it is worthwhile downloading. One warning, it does not have an uninstall feature and it crashes more often then Netscape 3.0 so you may want to have both. It has some really nice features and a whole new interface leaving Microsoft's Internet explorer in the dust.
I've been quite busy with midterms and a recital comming up. I will be trying out for fiddler on the roof when the auditions come. I've improved the frames. Since Geocities Geocites is so slow I will have a no framed version of this page.
