Importing QTVR movies into
Director
Introduction
This tutorial uses Director 7 (Director 6.5+ works in the same way).
QuickTime 3.0 and the QuickTime 3 Asset Xtras must be also correctly
installed. In addition, if you are running this tutorial on a PC - the QTVR
movie you use must have been "flattened"
What
does flattened mean?
Flattened is the
term used to describe QuickTime movies that have had their data and resource
forks combined. This step is essential if the QuickTime movie is to be
used on the WWW or on a PC
QuickTime movies produced on the Macintosh are not always flattened.
QuickTime Movie Player Pro is capable of producing flattened QTVR movies
through it's export option (check playable on non Apple computers)
1. Select Insert > Media Element > QuickTime 3...
2. Click on the Cast Member Properties
icon in the QuickTime 3
cast member window
3. Click on the Options... button in the Xtra Cast Member Properties
dialog box
4. Click on the Browse... button and select your QTVR movie.
5. After a few moments a preview of your QTVR movie should appear in
the left hand box. Click OK and then OK again in the Xtra Cast
Member
Properties dialog box. Finally drag the QTVR cast member onto the score.
