Born in 1841, in Michigan. Might be the Allen A. Kent who served in D Company, 18 Michigan Infantry in the Civil War. He was in Dundee, Monroe County, Michigan with his wife and three sons for the census from 1870 through 1910. In the 1920 census, he was in Greeley, Colorado. According to Walter J. Kent's obituary, Allen Kent was living in the Hastings, Nebraska area with in 1928, and died there.
Possibly a coincidence, but Allen A. Kent's son Frederick C. Kent taught for a time at University of Colorado.
Strong circumstantial evidence that he is the Allen Kent who died in Chicago in December 1970.

Sometimes signed his name as Allen Romayne Kent, Jr. Born December 25, 1898 per his draft card, Flint, Genesee County, Michigan. Registered for the draft in Pierce County, Washington in 1918 and reportedly served in the military at an unspecified time. Married Osha May Hall July 24, 1920. Attended classes at Colorado State Teachers College (Greeley), Summer Quarter, 1922. Divorced, March 25, 1925, Cook County, Illinois. Family tradition says that he died circa 1935, reportedly in an automobile accident. However, genealogy researcher Teri Gregg, a cousin from the Fraser side, has identified an Allen Kent with the same birthdate in the Social Security death index in Chicago, 1970, who is buried in Oak Forest Cemetary (Potter's Field), Cook County, Illinois.
Interestingly, the original Social Security application for this Allen Kent, filed in 1937, was for Charles Fraser, born in Michigan, with parents Earl Fraser and Ella Hall. Allen Romayne Kent's mother, Ella Fraser, had a brother named Earl, so he might have synthesized this personna and converted back to Allen Kent when collecting his Social Security checks.

Born in Michigan, 1868. He was a teacher at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraskafrom 1910 until his death in 1943. He was mentioned as founder and curator of the college museum. He taught biology and geology, and wrote an article on Nebraska weather. He is specifically mentioned in an editorial written at Hastings College about respected professors of the 1920-40 era "intelligent and well-educated PhDs". Funeral services were held October 13, 1943, in Hastings. At his death, he had just completed a group of two rare dinosaurs for his collection of fossils., and was planning to take additional fossil bones from shale rock in eastern Utah, according to the Lincoln Sunday Journal and Star.
