Let us take office in Chennai has IP address 198.162.0.1 to 198.162.0.100 and the remaning IP address 198.162.0.101 to 220 in New York.
Let us assume 198.162.0.5 as A
198.162.0.102 as B
A needs some data on B,
Can it get data from the Computer B without VPN ?
Yes, There is a need of proxy. And more over whenever a new
protocol arrives the proxy has to rewritten.
But in the case of VPN, it can directly access the Machiene as if it is present locally with any set of server and a client.
Thus when a Program in Machiene B listens with a socket, Machine A can connect to B as a client directly without any extra coding.
This integrating the LAN all the world with a VPN server is called as Virtual Private Network.
