A Day in the Life of Zachary in Arizona

Zachary usually gets up early. After he has his breakfast and gets his diaper changed, he likes to see if he can help Lisa get dressed.

Zachary likes to dig through his dresser drawers. He may be selecting his wardrobe, or he may just be making a mess. Here he is going for the "cool baby" look with a dark shirt and shades.

Look, we all have our eccentricities. I like to eat skittles two at a time, and they both have to be the same flavor. Zachary has a shoe fetish. He likes to carry them around. He likes to try on other people's shoes.

After getting dressed and carrying shoes around, Zachary gets down to the business of the day. First, he removes all the recyclables from under the sink and spreads them over the kitchen floor.

The kitchen cabinets offer all sorts of possibilities. Here, Zachary is pretending he is a fencing master.

Zachary has become quite a water baby, but he is so squirmy. For a while we were able to put him in this floaty thing which kept him afloat. Now, he'll have none of it. He wants to swim on his own. Every once in a while, I let him try. From these experiments I have concluded that Zachary sinks like a rock.

Jackson has a couple of computer games that he likes to play. Zachary has shown more of a system administrator aptitude. He likes to type random keystrokes on my computer renaming my disk partitions. He has wiped out Lisa's and my web bookmark files twice. He also likes to shake the computer table.

Zachary loves his bath. He and Jackson have territory disputes and Jackson takes all the toys. Zachary is getting fiestier though and will usually fight back.

Lisa and I trade off giving the kids baths. There isn't room for both of us near the bathtub. Zachary gets out first and then tries to climb back in. Lisa is bringing him out for me to hold before she goes back and gets Jackson out of the tub.

There is usually a little time after bath before Jackson goes to bed. Sometimes the kids watch a video. Here they are wrestling. Zachary can almost hold his own against his brother now.
