... and you're witnessing the Fertility Ritual.

Here the pregnant tribeswoman ( Val ) has donned the ritualistic headpiece, fashioned by the tribal witch doctor ( Dan, on the left ), and she happily awaits the beginning of the Novayuppie fertility ritual. It may appear that the witchdoctor is attempting to look up Val's skirt, but that is just an optical illusion ( I hope ).

To the left, Valerie's husband, Dave, lovingly cleans the area which will be tattoed.

Below are a few pictures of the tattoing process being carried out by the other tribes-people. Notice in the picture below on the right, you can see the legs of another tribeswoman ( Maureen ) who was the most recent previous participant in this ritual. Maureen, however, is steeped in superstition and refused to allow photographs of her ritual to be published here.

And here is a close-up of the finished product. It will turn a dark brown over the next two days, and will last about a month. Baby J will have a number of questions about this in years to come, no doubt.
