If you are like me who has both linux and windows installed
on his tiny little harddisk then this tip could be of some use to you.
When you transfer a text based file from Linux to Windows then
you might notice that these files do not show corectly in windows
notepad or any other windows editors, so how to correct this
hole ?.
A simple but effective solution is that you first open these
files using the MSDOS editor which will show these files
correctly, now press ALT+FS or save that file from the file
menu in MSDOS editor (edit.exe) now when you open that file
in notepad or any other winapp then it will show up correctly

FTP Site2Site transfer
If you r an advanced computer user like me who has a web site then
you must have sometime in you life wanted to transfer a file from one
ftp server to another without first downloading it to your own pc,
now you can do it with cuteftp3+ . open target site in one cute ftp window
launch another cuteftp window and in it open the target ftp site, now drag
file you want 2 transfer from the host site to the target site and you will
see that cute ftp has taken care of the rest.

BackUp
You should always back your important files to another hard disk or a tape drive, this is
very important because in todays world a disaster is bound to happen today or tommorow
so you should go now and buy another hard disk and backup all important files on it, if you cannot
afford another hard disk then use can use @Backup a internet utility which safely and automatically
backups your data, you should try it's 15 day trial period and if you dont like it then you should defenately
use Driveway it gives you 100 MB of online storage space for FREE till the end of the world



Surf Faster
Netsetter is a plugin for browsers which allows your to surf the internet faster,
it's free so go ahead and download it at netsetter.com



Yahoo! mail
If you are using the free email service provided by Yahoo! then
you can use your email software to send and recieve emails without
going to the website the settings are

pop server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
smtop server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

you ID is your user name and password the password
p/s: I don't use Yahoo Mail :)


WinZip Hazards
Often when you download a program (in self extracting Zip format) from the Internet using
some downloading program such as Filehoud,Go!Zilla,or NetZip or some otherprogram after that
when you try to run the program then it displays an error box saying some thing like

' WinZip Self Extract Header Corrupt. Possible cause: bad disk or file transfer'

Now this is a really brain crunching thing to happen isn't it ?, You downloaded this 5 MB program
at the speed of 0.2 kb/sec for 29 days (may be more) and when you try to run it it just does nothing !
at this stage you might be wishing to destroy your PC with a hand grenade or you may be thinking of throwing
your PC from the top of biggest building in your area Don't do it just give it one more try before doing so if
you have Winzip 6 or higher installed on your PC then you still may be able to recover the program for that
follow the following steps, right click on the exe file and click on the menu item named 'Open using Winzip', now
if you are lucky then winzip might be able to open it successfully if it does then extract all of the files to
another folder, now you are done. Just go to that folder and you will see that all the files are there so do what
ever you want with those files

If you have a keyboard with Win key on it (a key with win logo on it) then you can launch some of Windows features
with it which are :

Win+E for Windows Explorer
Win+Pause Break for System Properties
Win+R for Run Dialog
Win+F for Find Files Dialog
Win+M to Minimize the Current Active Window
Win+D to show the desktop
