League Rules
General Rules:
CAR SELECTION
-
Each driver may choose
one car to contest the entire season
-
No driver may run the
same car for 2 consecutive seasons.
SEASON CREATION
Seasons will be comprised of a mix including:
a.
Randomly
selected races
b.
n
tracks selected by each player
- Selected in the
order of the points finish from the previous season
- Selections cannot
include any races from the previous season
c.
A
predetermined season finale, changed by a league vote.
DEFINITION
OF A SEASON
-
Race Days
a.
3-4
races per day (unless agreed to by all members more than one day before the
race day)
b.
15
minutes per practice session
c.
Estimated
22 minute race (this of course will vary slightly)
d.
Selection
of the following seasons schedule (on season finale night)
- A week after the
season dedicated to testing, rules review, etc.
Offences:
1. LEAVING THE SERVER
Once the practice session for the first race of the day is
complete, no one may exit the server.
a.
Computer
crash is force majeure.
b.
The
server may be shut down to review replay for reasonable suspicion of a rules
violation.
c.
League
member may obtain special permission from a league vote.
2.
ACTIONS DEPTRIMENTAL TO THE SERVER'S PERFORMANCE
- Viewing Replays
No
one may touch the replay console buttons while logged into the server.
a.
If
a member requests to view a replay for suspicion of a rules violation, they may
request that the server be shut down after the race to review the replay.
b.
The
“Live Feed” button is not considered part of the replay console.

If a non-essential program for running GPL is nominated as being
detrimental to server performance it must be avoided.
a. Programs may be reviewed by monitoring FPS
b. Programs that cause any drop of FPS on the server is deemed detrimental (server is exempt)
3. TRACK
CUTTING
No one may pass another human
competitor off the track.
a.
Definition
of track cutting
- You must keep 2 wheels completely on the track at all
times (the curb is considered track)
- You must keep within all walls and permanent
(non-drive-thru) trackside objects
b.
If
you pass someone off the track you are expected to let them back by within one
laps time of the infraction to avoid penalty, or perform a self imposed
stop-and-go penalty before the end of the race. If on the last lap, you must allow the person back by before the
end of the race to avoid penalty.
c.
If
the person is spinning, wrecked with another car, or stopped on the track you
will not be required to let them back by.
4.
ADHERING TO LEAGUE VOTES
There is no appealing a league
vote. Once a vote has been taken, all
parties must adhere to the decision.
Penalties:
PENALTY
PROCESS
1.
Incident
is recognized as being in possible violation of the rules.
2.
Server
is shut down before the next race to review replay if necessary to make
informed vote.
3.
League
vote for a penalty will occur immediately before the race following the
nomination of the rules infraction.
4.
Enforcement
of the penalty at the race immediately following the league vote.
5.
If
multiple offences occur, the penalties will carryover into as many races as
needed.
DEFINITION
OF A PENALTY
-
The driver being
penalized must remain in the server for the duration of the practice session
with the car remaining motionless for the duration of the session.

The driver may not run
on the track that the penalty to be imposed on during the day of the race at
that track, from the point that the penalty is given forward.
League
Management:
DEFINITION
OF “LEAGUE VOTE”
- All members of the league cast a single
vote.
- All votes
will be made at racing events in the presence of all members attending that
day.
- All decisions must be by a majority of the
votes.
- There are no appeals to a League Vote.
MODIFICATION
OF THE RULES
- Rules will
be frozen throughout the season. It is
a driver’s responsibility to review the rules before the season begins to
familiarize themselves to any changes to the rules.
- Rules may be
changed only by a league vote between seasons.
- Amendments
to the rules will take effect from that point forward, no penalizing past events.
AMENDMENTS
I. Time Limit on nominating a Penalty
- All penalties must
be nominated before the first race of the following racing day.
II. You cannot cut the track to help advance
your position.
III. If a race crashes
- If the first lap of the race has
been completed, the race is scrapped and the season shortened.
- If not, then the race is
re-ran. Practice may be shortened.
IV. If you tag someone 3 times (or more) in a
race you are nominated for a penalty.
V. You cannot put off taking a penalty. If you are given a penalty you must serve
that penalty. Failure to do so
would result in
exclusion until the penalty is taken.
