"...IGN64 learned at the recent Game Developers Conference that Nintendo has already signed on California-based Left Field Productions as an official developer for its next console...the company is most likely working on a number of projects for N64 and has already started to recruit new talent for "N2000" game development...a certain basketball franchise would probably be a safe bet..."

...Nintendo of America's chairman Howard Lincoln commented at last week's third-party publishers conference in Italy that specifications and tools of the Art-X developed hardware would be available by the end of 1999...Although Lincoln would not go into detail about the next console, he did confirm that the N2000 would not use cartridges.

...More surprising though is what Acclaim is planning for 2000 (possibly 2001), which is of course the actual Turok 3. The game is currently in its very early design stages and could possibly not appear on Nintendo 64 at all, but rather Nintendo's next generation console. Depending on how development moves along on the title and whether the N64 is still going strong in late 2000, Turok 3 may make its appearance on the N64. However, the fact that it will be on a Nintendo console is for certain...
