######################################## #Written by David Tam # #davidkftam@netscape.net Copyright 1999# ######################################## The GFX Club ============ The GFX club is involved in digitally altering images, morphing, and animating computer graphics. With approximately 14 members we plan to work on many projects that involve computer graphics in video. A major project is the Glenforest 25th year anniversary. A video will probably be made, so some special effects are on the drawing boards. One idea is to have a morph from one principal to another, going from the very first one at this school through to our present one, Dr. Brown. Working on the morphing idea, a transition showing hair styles from the 1960's to the 1990's is a possibility. Another idea is to show a student, such as a valedictorian, maturing by using morphing techniques. Yearbook covers from all of the years of Glenforest could be shown, morphing from one to another. One project we are currently working on is the creation of a REAL gryphon. Pictures of lions and eagles have been scanned in and are being digitally combined and altered to create the animal. Plans for Halloween include creating images of "scary" things. How about a two headed donkey? How about an entirely new species? April fools could be provide other fun projects. By altering reality, anything is possible. Meetings aren't held regularity, but members can usually be found in the AV room, working on something neat! Jurassic Park II is on the drawing boards.
