Return

Caught Any Given Sunday over the weekend. There was a good idea in the film, dramatically showing how the quality of sports are damaged by the infusion of greedy materialism, but it gets lost among gratuitous inserted scenes from Ben-Hur, hoary cliches, abandoned subplots, and Stone's "never met a subject which wasn't best portrayed with hyper-kinetic camera movements and machine gun editing" visual style.

My brother was extremely amused that I recognized Elizabeth Berkely only in the scene where she is on her knees with a rear-view shot of her ass toward the camera. My wife was significantly less amused by same.
